“Great location, good value”
My wife and I stayed at the Westin for a racing event and would definitely stay there again. On the upside: 1) The staff was very friendly and helpful 2) The rooms are very comfortable and clean 3) The amenities exceeded our expectations - the room PPV movie selection was good, the room service was excellent, and the gym was one of the best hotel facilities I've seen, and the bed was very comfortable 4) The location is great - right on the waterfront and within walking distance of pretty much everything 5) The hotel looks very modern and clean 6) The location is great - we were able to walk to everything including ICE, Build-A-Bear (right next door), the Mayorga coffee shop, and a slew of restaurants The only negative I have which was very minor is that the shower design floods the bathroom - the water runs down the glass door and then runs onto the floor. I stepped out of the shower to find a floor covered in water. You have to lay a couple towels down to get around that. Every other aspect of the hotel was great. The hotel looks modern, clean, and we very much enjoyed staying there. Did I mention that the staff was all great?
“Alright Stay”
The stay would have been better if they provided free internet. Every stay at other hotels have provided it but this one.
“Nice location, great service”
It is a very conveniently located hotel, with great service and very comfortable rooms. I recommend it especially to these travelers who attend conferences at Gaylord Convention Center at National Harbor.
“Best Hotel on the Potomac”
My stay at the Westin Washington National Harbor was incredible. I love the decor and the comfort of the room. The staff was extemely courteous and friendly. I will stay there again if the opportunity arises. The only recommendation I would make is improve the channel selection on the TV. The choices were limited to mainly sports and news. I like to relax and the news although important doesn't need to be the only thing I have to watch.
“Bachelorette weekend on the harbor!”
I live in Old Town and invited my girlfriends form NC up to celebrate a bachelorette party. When deciding where to stay, Gaylord was far too expensive for what we required and all other hotels lacked a view. Westin was right on the water, gorgeous on the inside and had just a spectacular a view. Westin had modern decor (I want all the furniture in the room! especially the comfy white bed). It was convenient to everything in the harbor. We even did Sunday breakfast at the Westin restaurant, Sauciety, which had reasonable (for National Harbor standards) prices, good selection and the cutest little individual pots of hot chocolate! Definitely recommend to ANYONE wanted to stay at the National Harbor.
“Wonderful Westin”
Seriously one of the best hotels I've stayed in. I love the big bathroom and comfortable beds....and service was top notch.
“Too inconvenient from DC”
The only reason to stay in this hotel is if you have to attend a convention at the Gaylord, in which case I highly recommend this hotel over staying at the Gaylord. The neighborhood is very contrived with no redeeming qualities. I would prefer a city location with access to cultural events and better restaurants.
“Very Good Stay”
I preferred this room over the room we stayed in at the Gaylord Resort. This was much more reasonable in price and the quality of the room was excellent. Definitely loved the double head shower. My hubby slept like a baby. I have to say, the bed was very very comfy. I like the Westin hotels.
“very comfortable stay”
My room was very nice - very clean and super comfortable, with a nice view over the water. It was expensive, but that was expected. You also have to pay to park in a public lot across the street or for valet parking. The guy answering the phone for room service orders needs to be replaced - he sounded like I was interrupting his break when I called, and didn't know what sauvignon blanc was - but the food arrived quickly and was good. All the other staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is in easy walking distance of the Gaylord convention center and there are plenty of restaurants around the hotel, although most are overpriced since the whole area is basically built for conventioneers.
“Top hotel at National Harbor”
Things I enjoyed: -The service by hotel staff was outsanding, definitiely above the average Westin or Marriott. The room was very good too. -The pool and whirlpool after a long day walking around DC. -National Harbor itself, very pleasant for quality dining and outings. Things I enjoyed less: -Almost everything at the harbor closes at 10pm, which is a bit early. The hotel has a limited 24 hours room service menu. About the location and distance to DC: National Harbor is about 20 minutes drive from DC (outside of rush hour, which can be painful). A return fare by taxi is about 40 dollars; you save more than that by staying outside DC, but it may sometimes discourage you from going out in the capital. Tour operators will pick you up directly at National Harbor at no extra cost to visit DC. There are regular boat taxis to the old town of Alexandria, VA on the opposite side of the Potomac, which makes for a very pleasant day trip.
