We needed a hotel that was close to the University of Maryland since our granddaughter was moving in to begin her freshman year at the University. I would recommend this hotel if you're visiting College Park area since the rooms are really nice, clean and the staff couldn't be nicer. The staff was very accommodating. I will definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who is visiting that area. The breakfast buffet was a great deal for $15 per person all you can eat. My husband and I were in the newly renovated part of the hotel and it was wonderful. I just wished we had more time to spend there so we could enjoy more of the amenities. My daughter, her husband and my 15 year old grandson stayed there also in the other building and they said that they had a wonderful experience. The only problem is that it is very difficult to book room there. My suggestion is that you book months in advance since it is well worth it. When we return to Maryland to visit our granddaughter, I am definitely going to try to book well in advance. I give it a 5 star rating.
The stay was excellent to get away from the normal busy life . It was a relaxing stay . The front desk staff were great and accommodating . The room was spacious and clean .
The hotel is in a great location , near many shops and restaurants . We had a excellent dinner at Austin Grill which was a short walk and we were shortly back in the hotel. The elevators were slow but no major issue . There were some unwelcoming guest who had ridiculous looks on there face but again something that can be ignored . The part the was very annoying was the terribly slow service at the breakfast bar . I normally don't pay for breakfast at any hotel because it should be included but I decided to do so and a "pre made " BLT took almost 30 minutes to get . People who ordered after me got there food first . I complained and got my stale and super hard breakfast compt . Perfect since It wasn't even good. Other then the racist looks and the slow breakfast bar service . The hotel is great and spaciously comfortable . I will stay again but i i I will get my breakfast from outside of the hotel .
When I arrived from out of town, i noticed a garage full sign. The man coordinating the valet drivers told me that I should look for on the street parking because they had 2 weddings going on and that the guest paid for parking to attend the events. I informed him that I was from out of town and needed to garage parking....after telling him I would contemplate canceling my room a parking spot became available. The inside staff was very nice and helpful, but the guy trying to coordinate the valet area was slightly rude.
At first i was not sure if i wanted to stay here because of reviews i read. when i arrived at the hotel it was nice and clean and the staff was friendly. we arrived earlier in town then we planned and when i stopped in to see what time was check in they allowed us to check in then. My room was very clean and fully stocked.I had a standard two bed. It had a frig,microwave, and the other normal stuff. the only thing was not many channels to watch. There were nice places to eat that were walking distance. Security walked around all night which being a female and i was with my mother made me feel safe. Cleaning staff was nice but I dont think they knew much english. Parking was ok but it did fill up quick and depending on when you came and left was how hard it would be to find a space. I would recommend on staying here and plan to use this hotel again. If you have never been to this area i do strongly recommend bringing your GPS. Also the subway at the hotel was a nice size it even had a fireplace to sit and relax .
