We stayed for our daughter's graduation ceremony and the hotel coped well with various changes we had to make to room and tea bookings. They were delightful and helpful throughout. it is set in the beautiful lakeside campus and was very pretty.
The Hotel was well signposted and so was easy to find. I was made to feel welcome and was processed at Reception cheerfully and swiftly. The breakfasts and the one Bar meal I had were entirely satisfactory and the service all i could have wished for. The option of the Swimming Pool was attractive though in the end I was too tired to use it as it happened.
Having stayed at the George before we knew we liked the Hotel for its character, comfort and convenience. I would recommend this hotel to a friend. Breakfast welcome could have been warmer, but good standard and good value.

Staff were nice, the rooms were clean and modern. Only one concern. I checked in at 11pm and was met by lovely lady in reception. The following morning at 9am I went down for breakfast and met the same lady. I asked her long shift? She replied she had gone home and come back. May be holiday inn should consider the welfare of their employees? Considering I could tell she was pregnant.

Picked pretty much at random for a birthday weekend, and it couldn't have been a better choice. We had a lovely room, properly dark at night, with a comfy bed, and decent shower. The staff were really friendly, there was a great roaring fire, some good beer, and the food was excellent. Plus the village had a good little second-hand bookshop and an interesting church which kept us amused on a lazy Saturday morning.
