This is a very lovely boutique hotel and the rooms are spacious overlooking the mountains. It is rather difficult to find, but the hotel staff were very helpful and guided us into the town at night. It is very centrally located and is within an hour to two hours of spectacular sites of historical and natural significance. The restaurant was fantastic and the service impeccable.
This was one of the most enjoyabkle experiences I've ever had. I've stayed at 5 star hotels all over Europe and the US from NYC to San Francisco and this was the most delightful of all my travels. The service was outstanding and I had the best Sea Bass I ever tasted, and that includes the top resteraunts in NYC. The wines were delicious and inexpensive. I will be back within a year and I shared my experiences wirh all my co-workers. A most delightful experience to say the least.
The front desk staff were a bit stiff, but helpful with whatever you asked of them. The breakfast room lady was the real sweetheart, always smiling. Architecturally and historically, it is a really interesting place. There is so much of it that has survived from the days when staying at a swank hotel was a signifier of social standing - and therein lies its charm.
It was an idyllic relaxing holiday with a lovely pool set in the middle of a vineyard. The hotel staff were helpful and spoke excellent english. The dinner and wine selection was great. The old convent building is much better than the photos. Highly recommended. There a charming historic museums, roman ruins and historic town centres nearby.
This was a good hotel, almost new, in excellent condition, Excellent breakfast & evening meal, free internet (worth taking an ethernet cable, they lent me one but they might run out if busy) Staff were friendly and helpful. There is plenty of parking (free) There is a beach perhaps 15 km away, but not much else in the area as far as I could see. Minibar prices seemed to be the same as the hotel bar, (for beer at least)
There is a fire station next door & a petrol station across the road, and a Lidl supermarket. It is that part of town!
