Lovely hotel with plenty of parking. Great views of Coimbra. Hotel a little dated but very comfortable. Food was excellent.

We had a slight problem with our room - the problem was literally dealt with in a couple of minutes and we were upgraded to a suite Fantastic customer service!!

Superb day in Coimbra
I got the room with the bonus day. We arrived late at night and as a surprise were upgraded to a corner suite with wraparound balcony!! Great free breakfast in a salon with a wonderful view of the old town. Took the hotel free shuttle to the lower part of old town. Back with the last shuttle by 9 30 pm. Great friendly service and superb accomodations.

It is not what they advertise, the hotel is very dated and needs much upgrade. Washroom hot water did not work initially had to run it over 20 mins and then it started flowing

Stayed one night in this hotel with my husband and small daughter. The hotel really could use an update. I am sure that the staff is doing their best, but the room could have been cleaner. Also the soundproofing could use an update.. The breakfast was ok, but nothing out of ordinary. Pastel de natas would be a nice addition ;)

The first thing you expect at check in is welcome to our hotel. That did not happen. You get a long face and an unwelcome instead. The hotel is dated and far from the center.

Very nice location overlooking Coimbra. The seating and viewing area in the garden at the front of the hotel is quite relaxing. Parking was easy. The location away from the main part of the town meant it is quite quiet.

This is a true hidden gem! I always enjoy my stay! The rooms are simple yet awesome at the same time! Old school mixed with the new! Just love it!

Very comfortable. Excellent food.
An over night stay. This is a large modernist hotel, some of the room fittings are just starting to show their age although this did not spoil our stay. We had an evening meal at the restaurant which was fantastic. All the staff were very helpful. There is free parking and WiFi and the hotel was easy to find. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Shuttle availability misleading
We chose this hotel because their Expedia led with "free shuttle into Coimbra" but don't count on using it!!! you MUST book the shuttle AT LEAST one hour in advance of the few times it is actually scheduled to run. "Front desk girl told us No exceptions" That's not just for availability of getting 1 of the 5 seats on it, that's to actually book getting it to run. And the last run back to hotel is pretty early.) Better to stay IN Counbra. Taxi cost us 6€ each way. No walkway into Coimbra, it's all highway. We checked into hotel 30 minutes before shuttle was scheduled to depart but since no one else had booked the shuttle, there Was No shuttle! Otherwise, decent hotel.

Nice hotel; however the room was too small. There was a fire 7 miles from the hotel and we had to leave. The hotel receptionist didn't return our money.. The roads were close a few hours later.

A good experience spoiled...
I have stayed in this hotel quite a few times and its is always great value. The rooms, the mattress quality and especially the restaurant are brilliant - won't get better at this price. Its is very spacious and lots of common areas to relax in. However time, when I arrived I parked next to another car and headed into the reception area. Halfway up the steps, some overweight guy with a moustache like an army general from the reception poked his head out of the window and started yelling in Portuguese - telling me to move my car. I was really embarrassed in front of the other patrons standing in front of the hotel. This is NOT the way to greet guests. Why was it so important to tell me this that he could not wait for me to arrive at the reception. He would have saved me a great deal of embarrassment and not damagedthe image of the hotel if he had not shouted at me from the window like an old pimp. Clearly the staff could do with some training in customer service.

Very nice hotel with a beautiful view of Coimbra!
We liked our stay very much and the Friendly hotel staff gave us a room on the First fllor with Balcony with a great view over the City! You can reserve a seat on the shuttle bus which will bring you for Free to the City and you can be picked up too (upon availability!)

Good size room with perfect view on city centre.good breakfast and clean room.only be careful to keep the right on the roundabout to find the hotel.it s on top of the hill and difficult to spot it during the day.at night you can see if from very far .excellect position .we had a car but the city centre is at walkable distance if 20 minutes .

Hotel next to highway but far away from the city center. The room included parking and breakfast. The room was clean but have a wear smell that improved after I left the window open for a couple of hours.
