“Nestled in Cobham”

I only stayed one night because I was attending a function in nearby Silvermere Golf Club but even though there were several functions still going on in the hotel when I returned I was not disturbed by any noise. My room was well furnished and equipped and I especially liked the separate make-up mirror and decent hair drier. The only downside was that my room was quite a distance from the reception and I had to go outside and into a separate building. When I commented onthis to the reception saying that I thought as a single female traveller it might be 'safer' to be in a less isolated part of the hotel but I was told that their view was that I would be further away from the noise of the functions.

“very good stay”

We had a triple room for one night while we were rambling in the area. The room was lovely, and very good value for 3 of us. We would have welcomed a cheaper breakfast option than about £14 for a full breakfast. The reservation was very smooth and a query I had was resolved easily.

“Not impressed - Hotel is state of the "Ark"”

I booked a king room - non smoking. When I arrived they only had smoking rooms. They do not have wireless internet. The internet box was not working and had to be replaced. The costs for internet access was exhorbitant 15 pounds for 24 hours. There was no iron in the room so clothes had to be sent out for pressing but not between saturday lunch and monday morning. The AC units were archaic and noisy. The temperature adjuster was in such a position that it was poorlu illumintaed and did not have a back-light so was virually impossible to read. The Hotel is called the Cobham Hilton but it is not in Cobham and istructions from their wabsite were poor.

“Not a great example of a hilton but fantastic breakfast!”

The main areas of the hotel (Reception, bar & restuarant) were very clean and modern. Yet corridors to the rooms and rooms themselves seemed a little dated. We stayed in a standard room on a hilton getaway deal. This room should of cost a double what we paid and I would have been extremely dissappointed if I had paid that price. The bedding/towels were clean but the room was a little worse for wear. Make-up smeared on wall near a mirror and dusty headboard which was wooden so easily cleanable, it just generally looked a little drab and uncared for. Having stayed in other hilton hotels this room did not come up to the standard that would be expected from a hilton. Location was fantastic for what we needed and breakfast, buffet style was really good. Nice and hot with fantastic waiter/waitresses making sure your coffee/tea/juice was replenised and dirty plates removed. Overall I would say if you want to stay at this hotel in a standard room it is fine if you are paying discounted prices but not for their normal standard room rate!!

The hotel was excellent for my parents - their only gripe was they went for breakfast just before 10 am and the cooked food was looking abit tired

“Not too impressed”

Hotel reception and comunal rooms were good. Servicewas also good, andbreakfast wasfine. However, our room needed some tlc - torn net curtains, ceiling tile coming down, hole in bathroom tiles, and door jambs lookingas if they been chewed. Bed sheets were a very poor fit. Kettle did not work, but that was sorted in minutes. Have since had an apology from hotel. All the room needed was some tlc, and it would have been just fine.

“Service not good”

Can't fault the room as was clean and bed very comfortable. However the service let this hotel down - when I first checked in I was told that all rooms were non-smoking when I requested smoking, but my friends who arrived later were offered a choice of smoking or not. When I found out and asked to be moved I was told they were now filled - this may have been down to be checked in by a lady with poor English and therefore didn't understand. Also, when we went down to the cafe/bar for a coffee, we stood at the bar for about 15 minutes before being approached/served. The service for breakfast was a little better but still leaves a lot to be desired!!!!

“Building Works, Fire Alarms, No Heating, Rooms Cold, Untrained Staff”

Our stay at the Hilton was a joke. The Fire Alarm went off at 7-15 on the Saturday. I had booked a Morning Call but not that loud. The rooms were cold. The Heating did not work. We had to ask for extra quilts & Heaters for room. The waiting staff were rude & ignorant & had no respect for residents. Finally the Bar staff were not trained & were the Hotel Staff with no knowledge of drinks. I had to literally make my own. Lord! Shut it Down
