If you want a peaceful break look no further. The New Inn is, as you would expect from Clovelly, a small quaint hotel. The decor is Arts and Crafts in keeping with the architecture which is in some places a little jaded (mainly in the foyer), but would you expect anything else from an 'olde worlde' inn?
We stayed in room two which was bright, warm and well decorated - a lovely touch was the old books available to read on the shelves. We sat for hours relaxing on the window seat, just listening to the local wildlife and birdsong due to the fact that there are no cars within the village. The bathroom was modern and exceptionally clean, so no
We ate our evening meal in the bar, which was basic but again in keeping with the overall feeling of the hotel, and the food was well cooked with plenty on our plates. The staff in both the bar and reception were professional, but informal enough to make us feel very welcome and the full English breakfast, served in the lovely, beamed Hamlyn room watched over by a huge portrait of the Lady Hamlyn herself, was really very good. Nicley cooked and again plenty of it!
If you want a break which is slightly different with a trip back in time, and you are the type to sit and watch the stars ( due to the lack of light pollution) and enjoy the local wildlife. This is the place for you. Thank you New Inn for a welcoming nights stay. We will stay a little longer next time.

This bed and breakfast was recommended to us, and we would definitely recommend it to anyone. In our group was a young toddler and an OAP who has trouble walking and everyone enjoyed it and didn't occur any problems at all. Also the breakfast was delicious an the perfect way to start a busy day.
A well located hotel for Bude, Hartland, Westward Ho and Bideford. Rooms are in character with the old world style of the Inn and are very comfortable. The owner and staff are very friendly and helpful. Plenty of space at the Inn to relax both inside and out, and a friendly and cosy bar for an evening drink.

We only stayed for the one night in a twin room, however the owners were superb in allowing us a much later arrival. The B&B is very easy to find, with off-street parking. The rooms themselves have everything we could have needed - and more, the selection of fruit / herbal Tea's were a lovely touch.
Breakfast was wonderfully fresh - so fresh that the owner went to the chicken hut in the garden in the morning to collect our eggs.
We would have liked to have stayed longer.

This was just a quickly arranged overnighter, but what turned out to be a fantastic break. We booked Woodford Bridge Country Club based on its location as there were a couple of places we had to visit the following day in the near vicinity. We were given one of the king-size hotel rooms in the thatched part of the hotel and facilities were great. Nothing was too much bother for the staff and the meals were to die for.
We will definitely be going back again, and next time for more nights so that we can use it as a base.
Really lovely B&B with warm and welcoming hosts, the welcome afternoon tea was a lovely suprise and much apprecited. Rooms were clean and well presented, and the breakfast was amazing. Would highly recommend.
"A lovely farmhouse setting away from the main road"
Thorne Park is a farm just on the outskirts of Holsworthy ..... A lovely peaceful setting, and I was able to enjoy a beautiful starlit sky without any of the usual light pollution. The room itself was perfect - set on the ground floor and with its own entrance, and having everything you would want to find. Beautifully decorated and furnished, and very warm with underfloor heating. The bed was comfy and I had a very good night's sleep.
Breakfast was taken in the main house. There was a very varied choice of cereals and the cooked option was done to perfection.
I recommend Thorne Park, and will certainly stay there again.
