This is a great historic hotel, with acres of beautiful grounds and trails, and wonderful facilities. The staff and food are also very very good. The one thing that could be improved is to make a few rooms more geared for families.
Recent stayed for our wedding anniversary and had we known how fantastic the place is, we would have stayed longer. The room was quirky, but fantastically well decorated. The little nuances offered by the hotel / B&B as guest perks were amazing. I won't spoil the surprise by saying what they are, but if you like something different to drink, you will not be disappointed.
For the price we paid, we cannot rate Bel & The Dragon highly enough. The staff were fantastically accommodating given we arrived & checked out early. We sadly only got to experience the food at breakfast, which was beautiful, but next time we will be eating in the restaurant downstairs.
Thanks to all at Bel & The Dragon and hopefully see you soon!!
Great location, beautiful greenspace in front of hotel with several walking trails. At end of Cookham high street so lots of excellent restaurants to choose from.
Our room was in new building back from main pub/restaurant so very quiet.
Breakfasts were good and service was friendly.
We stayed in 11 hotels, pubs and B&Bs on our recent trip to England, The Crown at Cookham was one of our best experiences.
We arrived half an hour early, but that was no trouble as the staff allowed us into our room. Couldn't fault the room, clean and accommodating. The bed was so comfortable too! We had an Afternoon Tea (which is a must!) in the dinning room overlooking the beautiful gardens and a sumptuous cooked breakfast in the morning.
This hotel is a perfect stay for anyone wishing to dine at 'The Hinds Head' in Bray as it's only 12 mins away
This is the perfect hotel for a weekend retreat. The room was superb, classic high ceilings true to Georgian style,. and very spacious. The only negative was that there was an 18th birthday party being held on the evening of our arrival, and this did cause some noise in the corridors during the evening. However I would definitely recommend this hotel and I enjoyed my stay. .
We arrived late in the evening and were met by a very pleasant receptionist.
Our room was very large and also clean and tidy.
Breakfast was of good quality and plentiful.
All the staff were very friendly and helpful.
In short we had a great experience at this hotel and look forward to our next visit.
