Tiny little town but this hotel did a lot to make their guests feel welcome. They had a lot of nice touches in the room like cozy robes and slippers, full duvet wrapped around the bed, cupcakes, real coffee and a coupon for a complimentary beer in their bar, and an excellent full Irish breakfast. The bar was lots of fun with local traditional Irish music playing, and their restaraunt was great! We rarely stay to eat at the hotel for dinner as we like to see more of the town, but this was the place to be and we had a great dinner. After a long day on the road, it was really nice to find everything right there and not miss any of the fun.
The hotel is old. The parking facility was in back of the hotel. The only way back to the lobby without going around the block was thru a back door or carry your bags climbing 30 steps. The room has a skylight which means you are awakened at 6am. If you stay there, make sure you tell them you don't want a room with skylight. The location was great.

Tom and Marion are excellent hosts. Tea was served upon our arrival, and Tom sat us down with a map and GPS and helped us plan our time in the Burren area of Ireland. Our room was fit for royalty, it was spacious, beautifully appointed, and my daughter loved the antique dressing table! Our breakfasts were large and delicious, and the home made brown bread was out of this world!
We stayed at the Armada for Sunday through to Tuesday toward the end of October. We didn't know it when we booked the hotel that it was a Bank Holiday on the Monday in Ireland, and it was half term, but to all intents and purposes for us it made no difference other than meaning there were more people for breakfast than we would have expected to see on a Monday. Speaking of breakfast, what a spread? We found the hot food (bacon, sausages, white pudding and black pudding, roast potatoes, mushrooms, tomatoes, scrambled egg, and fried egg) to be both hot and fresh, and the range of cereals and porridge both wide and plentiful.
We found the staff to be very helpful and friendly, our room was large and clean, with comfortable beds, and good facilities, and the view of the bay from our first floor window was absolutely breathtaking.
Would we stay there again? Certainly!
Would we recommend it to others? Definitely!
If there was anything to niggle at then I would say that the lack of a large general lobby type area for people to come in and meet for coffee and conversation is the only thing missing.

We really loved the hotel. The pub downstairs was great too, and had a nice fireplace which was great during the colder months. Great base camp for burren excursions. Great staff! Comfy beds, clean rooms, immaculate bathrooms.

The Staff were very helpful & friendly. The first room was too far from reception & this was change without a fuss, for one closer, as I have a mobility problem with my knee.
The whole atmosphere was warm & friendly. I would most certainly stay at the Auburn Lodge again
