great location, opposite park so nice and quiet but not too far from great shops, restaurants, bars and christmas markets. definitely recommend this hotel, very clean and comfortable. No kettle or tea making facilities as you expect in a European hotel, but it would have been nice! Apart from that had a very enjoyable stay in this chic, modern city. Christmas markets were very enjoyable not like the rammed experiences of the ones in England!
Front desk reception was fabulous! The hotel was very upbeat, great for business people. Staff was excellent , especially front reception people very helpful and cheery! Excellent assistance and great attitudes.
Hotel corridors need better housekeeping--- corners in hallways dusty. Everything else good experience.
the hotel is situated nicely half way between the airport and the city centre. resturants in the city centre are a 10min tram ride. the hotel was clean and very quiet which is all anyone can ask for in a hotel.

Near the motorway for easy access to Dusseldorf fair center and the airport, and just three kilometers from the city center …More
Stayed here when we went to watch Scotland play Germany.
Smart hotel and the staff are very friendly. We arrived at 10.30am so we weren't expecting to get in our room but the hotel staff changed us to a room that was available which was great. It meant we could leave our belongings securely and head off in to Dusseldorf.
There is a tram round the corner which will take you to the Altstadt or the Hauptbaunhof which is handy.
We didn't dine at the hotel but I'd certainly recommend it and would happily stay there again when I'm next in Dusseldorf.
I checked out a number of hotels online before booking and the price for the value seemed to be best for the Excelsior and my hunch worked out! Nice place, 15 minute or less walk to Altstadt, clean rooms, quiet hotel, really good breakfast, friendly staff. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a nice hotel without having to pay a ridiculous amount.
If you have a car you have to park across the street at the parking garage. It's around 17 euro a night so that part wasn't so fun but if you've been to Europe before you'll know that parking in the cities is always at a premium. You might be able to drive around and find a spot along the street but it was pretty full everywhere. Not the hotels fault though.
Very nice hotel, clean, safe, excellent staff, great breakfast, modern. We have no complaints at all about this hotel. The room was a bit tight but still very nice and great for our one night lay over. Food selection nearby is limited, but doable. I would definitely stay here again if in Dusseldorf.
