“Disappointed”
Not as near to the train station as advertised, difficult to find. Indifferent service, without the usual Italian warmth. Quality of breakfast below average. No Internet (free or otherwise) for guests without laptops or tablets. Not a 4-star hotel at all. I've stayed at much better 3-star hotels in Italy.
“Not happy”
First impressions were positive - the hotel looked clean, slick, and modern with friendly and helpful staff. It then turned south when it was time to turn in at night. The back entrance (street level) was fairly dodgy; no lighting at all, and urine smells in the alley. Next, our room had a very weak airconditioner so we had to request to be moved to a different room. The next room was not that much cooler but better than the weezy unit from the last one. Lastly when we woke up the next morning, we found a parking ticket attached to our rental car.. which was parked on the HOTEL RESERVED SPOT. The hotel staff did not step up to the plate on this one. We had to go down to the local police station to sort it out... who explained to us in broken English (we did not speak Italian) that this was not really a reserved spot but they'd waive the penalty as a favor.. go figure. Overall these items have left an unsavoury taste in our mouth so will have to reconsider next time.
“Covenient hotel to Cinque Terre”
This hotel is located in La Spezia. The train to Cinque Terre leaves every 40 minutes from the train station in La Spezia. The hotel has a convenient location approximately 500 m from the train station. It is modern and clean and the staff is very friendly and explains how best to explore the Cinque Terre. Parking was free in front of the hotel and Wifi was free.
“Horrific”
First of all, there are only 6 parking spots at this hotel, secondly there was NO air conditioning during our stay. Lastly, we had requested a queen bed and although not "all requests could be fulfilled" we were given an attitude and challenged when specifically our request HAD been made through Expedia. There is graffiti everywhere and a bit of a sketchy area so be fore-warned!
“Won't stay here again”
I've stayed at this hotel now twice with groups and both times the groups were not pleased with this hotel. It just doesn't cut it. It's expensive and the rooms are very loud. You hear everything in the hallways... doors slamming, maids vacuums, maids talking loud, etc. The staff is kind but the place just doesn't work.
“mmm yeah not bad”
Parking is pretty hard outside and the hotel rooms had tiled floors which leaves me feeling a bit less homely, but it was clean and did the job. Breakfast a bit minimal.
“Okay stay at My One Hotel La Spezia”
The hotel was our least favorite of our European vacation (3+ weeks in Portugal, France and Italy). The hotel is clean and in an okay location (located above main street to train station) but to get to the main street you have to walk down a dark dirty alley which is a little concerning at night. We were unlucky enough to get a disabled room when we checked in so it wasn't as nice as the pictures showed and the poles in the bathroom and shower made it a little difficult to move around, and it had a funny smell. We called right away but they said they had no other room we could switch to. We were happy staying in La Spezia to explore Cinque Terre (quick train ride to any of the 5 villages). Perhaps if we would have received a better room we might have enjoyed our stay more. I'd say stay at another hotel in La Spezia.
“Great hotel with generous breakfast. Slightly further from train station than was expected.”
Friendly staff in this lovely hotel which is centrally located within the city centre. Great breakfast in morning. Spacious twin room. A good 5-10 min walk from train station, which is tough on a hot day and especially if you aren't aware there is easy access to the hotel from Via Prione (WITH sign posts for the hotel) and instead take the extremely hilly route along Via Septembre (WITHOUT sign posts and a killer walk!). But not sure if you can use this easy access without a hotel card. Otherwise, no complaints and enjoyed our stay here!
“Bed uncomfortable and breakfast poor”
We spent three nights. The staff were not very friendly, our bed was very hard and lumpy and the breakfast food was very poor. We were served the same supply of dry cake and cornetti each day and it was not pleasant to see the waiter rub his nose then use the same bare hand to rearrange the pastries. On the positive side, the location is very good, only a short walk to the train station and an even shorter walk into the main shopping area of La Spezia, and there is free wifi. And there are a few free parking spaces on a first come first served basis.
“Noisy”
We checked into this hotel for its location to the Cinque Terre. Access was reasonable. We were not happy that having booked and paid for our hotel room in August, 2010 our room must have been in one of the worst locations in to hotel - under the dining room. The dining room as well as all areas we visited in the hotel were all tiles so sound echoed throughout the hotel. In our room we could hear people talking in the foyer area. We were moved after two nights which was marginally better. Despite advertising free WiFi we arrived to find it not working and it did not work for the four days we stayed at the hotel. No one knew when it would be fixed. Staff were less than regponsive and we felt that they didn't care because they know we would never to back there. We left the hotel a day before our anticipated check out.
