Good location, very welcoming and supportive staff

Posted 03-Nov-2014
Pros: Excellent breakfast. Rooms were spacious but beds a little hard - maybe a topper would have made a positive difference.
Cons: Beds could be a little more comfortable but on the whole good value, good location and nice staff.
Location: Excellent location for restaurants, train station and shopping. A good location to make the journey to Cinque Terre. Would recommend to anyone.
An excellent visit to La Spezia. Enjoyed our few days there. Very helpful staff who were always happy to help.

Very close to airport

Complementary transport could have been quicker at such a late landing in the evening ( 45mins) given the proximity to airport

2 nights in La Spezia

Posted 13-Oct-2014
Pros: Lovely double room- courtyard with a super view- Walkable to the downtown which was charming also.
Cons: Bigger shower everything else was amazing
Location: Lots of restaurants and shopping with easy walking distance. Even after seeing Siena, Rome Naples and Capri I would return there to live.
We wanted to be neaer the Cinque Terra and regretted not staying in one of the charming towns. BUT we changed our mind as soon as we reached MY ONE. It was charming, the front desk staff VERY nice, very helpful. We very much enjoyed the room - it had an extra room with a courtyard that was simply amazing. i cannot recall the room number but our stay was Sept 24 and 25

Great location, about 1/4 mile from train station.

Posted 17-Sep-2014
Pros: Location and staff
Cons: Can't think of anything
Location: Lots to see and do.
Good experience, superb staff. Close to great piazza area, hotels and restaurants. Also very close to boat ferries to Cinque and Porto Venere. This location superior to hotels at Cinque Terre as there is many more things to see and do and it's easy to get to all the five towns for 12 euros round trip. Only took ten minutes on train to get over to first Cinque town. Would stay again.

Very good location, right on the city centre

Posted 06-Sep-2014
Pros: clean and very nice, location is right on the city centre.
Cons: Need to update the elevator with a faster ones.
Location: The hotel is located on the city centre with lots of restaurants and shops.
We stayed for 2 nights. Little bit far from train station (20 minutes walk), but right on the city centre and on the hill. Room was very quite and nice modern looking. Elevator is very slow, almost useless. We took the public elevator outside the hotel to go to the city centre (downstairs0 Other than that, it's quite nice.

Hotel is OK

Posted 19-Aug-2014 on Hotels.com
Parking is tricky near the hotel, so it's nice there is a garage. It's quite a hike to the hotel from the garage, so I recommend unloading your luggage at the hotel before parking. Cute alley shops and restaurants just outside the hotel, but the neighborhood leaves much to be desired.

Great Location to Visit Cinque Terre

Posted 19-Aug-2014 on Hotels.com
It was rather difficult to locate the hotel, as it is located in a residential neighborhood. Good location to explore and walk around the area, easy walk to the train station to go to Cinque Terre. Staff at the front desk were not very polite, only hotel in 4 weeks of travel in Italy who did not acknowledge people coming in and out of hotel. Did not find them friendly at all.

A mixed experience, but a very handy location

We stayed at CDH My One Hotel La Spezia for two nights to have enough time to visit both Pisa and Cinque Terre, which we were easily able to do from this base. The hotel is built into the face of a small escarpment, so has the ground floor at the town main-street level and the reception on the 5th floor at the ridge-top. This lay-out is very useful for getting into the centre of town quickly and accessing ATMs, ferries and restaurants on foot. Breakfast is good, with both continental options and hot eggs available. Reception staff can suggest good local places to eat, which we tried and found excellent. Now the mixed experience bit of this review. To be fair to the management, we were not charged the local hotel tax of €6 (€1.50 for 2 persons for 2 nights) because at no time during our 2-day stay did the air-conditioning function properly. The average temperature in our room was 28.8C (83.8F) during the day and cooled at night only because the window could be left open. The air-conditioning fan system was running and electricity was being consumed, but no cooling was being achieved, so it amounted to a waste of money. Hotel management advised us this was a technical problem, but air-conditioning is needed in the summer and was a key selling point for this hotel. CDH really need to take this issue on and address it more effectively.
