A nice little spot. Rooms are small and pretty basic but still comfortable and pleasant. Very close to town with a lovely sitting area for evening drinks and breakfast. The breakfast was nicer than it had to be with eggs, bacon and a fancy coffee machine. Would stay in both the hotel and the town again - the town is much nicer than Vernazza or Riomaggiore and this hotel was the best by far that we stayed at in the Cinque Terre.
This hotel is away from the village of Manarola, high on the mountain top of Volastra. The views from this hotel are spectacular. If you enjoy a quieter atmosphere after a long busy day then this a place for you. There is a shuttle bus to take to the hotel from the Manarola. If you like to hike there is a hiking path to the hotel. We rode the shuttle bus but did decide to walk down one morning. The views were beautiful and was worth the walk. The hotel is clean with spacious rooms. The owners are friendly and helpful. This hotel is worth the stay and we recommend this place to be on your list of hotels.
Thank you for making our stay a memorial one.
The view over Riomaggiore from our terrace was just spectacular. Despite the lack of AC, the fan was powerful enough to keep the room cool at night during a week of temps in the 90's. Breakfast wasn't much but was acceptable. Only real complaint was the lack of promised wifi. It worked for approximately 2 hours on the first day of our stay and never again. We informed reception but got no real answer about why it didn't work or attempt to fix it. Despite that, I would definitely recommend this hotel as a reasonably priced option if you're looking for a great view.
It was an adventure finding this hotel, even with GPS (still needed to ask directions, so brush up on Italian!). But once we found it, we enjoyed our stay. It was a sufficient, quiet, no frills solution for our family of 4 (includes 2 girls, ages 11 and 13). The place is truly in the middle of nowhere, but if you plan to explore the Cinque Terre area, it's an option if you prefer being away from the action. I have to mention the restaurant next door (not connected to the hotel), which was outstanding. The hotel feels like a family run place. It could use some updated facilities (hot water was a challenge in the morning).

Nice hotel with lovely sea view. Staff very friendly, polite and professional. Buffet breakfast was a little disappointing; for example, the scramble eggs were too well done. Had the room with sea view, good size. Big bathroom unfortunately the shower stall is very tiny, hard to move around.
They provide complimentary taxi service for transfers from train station to hotel which is very nice.
Cute little place to stay in the old part of Monterosso. Great location to walk into town, and to catch the train and ferry boat to the different terraces. Clean room, comfortable beds. Nice breakfast in the a.m.

"Secluded, good for people who want their solitude"
Cottages are strewn over a hillside giving great views of the blue sea, but also involves a trudge every time one has to come to the reception or get out to the road level. Those with luggage be aware.
Rooms are basic, wish they had a window. Convenient for those with a car and need to park and explore the Cinque Terre area through their own car or other means of transport.
Air conditioning works from 6 pm onwards until the morning, a bit strange. Ours went off and on as if it had a life of its own.
Place is run by owners themselves and is generally well maintained.

"Many, many steps up but view is most spectacular!"
We had the highest room in Vernazza, so it's many, many steps up, but the view is spectacular. This suite that sleeps 4 has two rooms and a large private terrace with 4 lounge chairs and an unsurpassed view. There are no hotels in Vernazza - just rooms that families rent out, but these rooms were clean, comfortable, relatively spacious. No air conditioning, but the fans kept things cool during an unusual hot spell. Large refrigerator & sink, small but modern bathroom, ample storage space inside and clothes drying rack outside, tight kitchen table & chairs, spiral interior staircase connecting the two rooms. Host Andrea was extremely nice (met us and helped carry bags then served us lunch at restaurant). The restaurant run by the same owners was another two flights higher up on the trail to Corniglia and had an even more spectacular view, and the drinks & food (e.g., steamed mussels & pesto lasagna) were great.
Comprised of five tiny villages perched atop the cliffs of northern Italy's Riviera, the Cinque Terre is renowned for its lush vineyards and stunning Mediterranean Sea views. Ancient footpaths are the best way to explore. Via dell'Amore, a 5-hour hike through all 5 towns, provides postcard-worthy panoramas. Unwind by sipping specialty wines in Manarola or sunbathing at a Corniglia beach.
