The Santa Justa is in an old building at the heart of the Baixa, which makes it equidistant from the Barrio Alto and the Alfama.........a short but stiff climb to both if you are on foot. Inside the hotel is modern and pleasingly designed....not too functional but not over the top. Staff amazingly helpful and friendly; free wi-fi and free mini-bar plus welcoming bottle of port are a nice touch. Can't really fault it. Didn't eat there, and the restaurants in the nearby Baixa streets aren't up too much.
I enjoyed my stay as I was in a double room with a single occupant, if my wife had been with me the room would have been too small. There was no room to sit down other than on the bed
I enjoyed the different elements in the hotel however the lasting impression is one of confusion . The interior designer had been gives too much reign
I stayed in Lisbon Short Stay Apartments for a week on business/ pleasure and was really pleased with everything. Staff were welcoming, kind and extremely helpful both helping to resolve an airline issue and with advice and recommendations for things to do. It was clean and well-equipped, comfortable and spacious. I felt safe as a woman travelling alone. I found the price to be extremely reasonable and would choose here to stay above all others I have previously stayed in in Lisbon.
Our apartment was at the heart of Baixa. Its a block from the metro and walking distance to major landmarks. Lot's of cafes, restaurants and shops in the area. Apartment was fresh, roomy, bright and quiet. We liked that it was recently refurbished; kitchen was modern with new appliances. It felt like home away from home.
The hotel staff could not be more helpful - nothing was too much trouble for them. The hotel is in an excellent central location and if you have a car, the hotel staff will provide assistance and information for the Car Park. There are tours which leave regularly from the square and there are two 'Fado' restaurants within walking distance where you can be entertained with this typical Portuguese music over a good meal. The reception area does not do justice to the hotel. The decor is quirky and worth noting - every chair in the restaurant is a different design. I am not too sure that I liked too much the 'Do not Disturb' Sign on the bedroom door which said simply 'Get Lost' ! However just a minor point for a very pleasant stay; I would definitely come back.
