Hotel is on the beach front and has beautiful views- you can see the ocean from your bed! The rooms are very big. Staff extremely helpful and always smiling. Lovely indoor pool and sauna as well as a nice rooftop terrace with sunbeds. Food was very nice too.
I highly recommend visiting the restaurant and bar at Estalagem Da Ponta Do Sol as well (on top of the cliff) incredible views and amazing parties on Friday and Saturday!!!

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room, and the hotel as a whole, were very clean and well-furnished. Lovely location as well. We were well satisfied with the overall package, with only one reservation. The food, both at breakfast and dinner, was fairly average.

Staff were A1,very helpful, friendly and very good at their job ie making your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. The restaurant served very good food made from local sourced ingredients, a good wine selection and the portuguese brandy was very very good. My room was in a block of log cabins just off of the main building, very comfortable twin bed jobby, with views of mountains which were often capped by clouds late afternoon, I could see all the way down the valley to the sea some 3 or so miles away. The hotel is situated about central on Madeira and a good base to explore the island.Oh and the breakfast was to die for,you could make it about a 7 course affair if you were in a mind to.
THIS IS THE BEST HOTEL WE HAVE STAYED AT ON ALL OUR TRIPS ABROAD. OUR FIRST IMPRESSION WAS WE HAD ARRIVED AT PORTMERRION IN WALES. IT HAD THE SAME LOOK AND FEEL.WHILST IN THE FIRST INSTANCE A LITTLE DIFFICULT TO FIND THE 8KM CLIMB UP THE MOUNTAIN ROAD IS SO WORTH IT AND EASY TO REMEMBER THERE AFTER. A VERY COMFORTABLE ROOM WELL APPOINTED AND SECURE. THE STAFF WERE OF THE TOP ORDER AND COULD NOT DO MORE. A SIMPLE BUT LOVELY TOUCH WAS EVERY DAY THE ROOM WAS CLEANED AND A CHOCOLATE PLACED SOMEWHERE ON THE BED FOR EACH PERSON.THE FOOD IN THE RESTAURANT WAS GOOD WITH TIME AND CARE PLACED ON SERVICE. IF WE HAD ANY IMPROVEMENTS TO ASK FOR THEN WE WOULD REQUEST THE POOL WAS OPENED LATER IN THE EVENING AS WE SPENT ALL DAY OUT AND OFTEN ARRIVED BACK AFTER 7PM WHEN THE POOL WAS CLOSED AND A NICE COOL SWIM WOULD HAVE BEEN GOOD. A GOOD HOTEL FOR COUPLES AND A CAR IS A MUST. WE WOULD WITH OUT DOUBT STAY HERE AGAIN. WELL DONE ALL....
Friendly and welcoming staff on reception. Comfortable room with lovely outlook over the private garden down to the coast about 3 miles away. Good centre for touring but without a car you might feel a bit out on a limb. Ideal for a walking holiday. The large covered swimming pool is excellent. A delicious breakfast, included in the room rate, can be taken on the terrace to enjoy the sun!

"Nice hotel (Vegetarian friendly!) & super location"
We found the hotel to be very nice with excellent facilities, the staff were friendly, welcoming, attentive, knowledgeable and professional, the food was excellent, with a good choice for all tastes and diets including Vegetarian (I'm Vegetarian and really appreciated the good choices). We originally thought that we'd eat 'A La Carte' most evenings, however, we had Buffet each evening as it was so very good. The local wines and beers were very good also! The location of the hotel is stunning, on the cliffs overlooking the Atlantic with views down to Jardim Do Mar and Paul Do Mar. Watching the sun set whilst enjoying a drink on the terrace was a real treat. The local town of Prazeres is very quiet, but still has a couple of restaurants and a few shops - The area is ideal for walking holidays. The hotel provide scheduled shuttle bus services to Funchal and a few other places, however, we would highly recommend getting a hire car if you want to explore some of the many beautiful places on Madeira (we organised our car in advance for collection at the airport, but the hotel can arrange a car at good rates). Our room was a "studio" and it had a small kitchen area including coffee machine, toaster and fridge-freezer, which we found to be useful. There is a small grocery store on site at the hotel, which sells some wines, spirits, beers, basic groceries and souvenirs. The photos don't do the place any justice - it is much better! A very good choice for relaxing holiday
