Helpful staff. Great location for the price, easy access to Tokyo JR station and other metro stations. Room wasn't big but it was enough for me as a single traveler. I would return to this hotel again.
Nice, comfortable hotel in center of Tokyo conveniently located next to Tokyo Station. I stayed for two nights on business travel. The hotel is expensive, but very comfortable with larger rooms, quiet, and excellent location. The gym/spa is not large but has a reasonable set of workout equipment, hot tub, sauna, and lap pool that was very clean and well kept.
"Everyone should experience this hotel at least 1x"
I cannot speak highly enough about this hotel. It is by far the finest hotel experience I've ever had (and I've stayed in other luxury hotels elsewhere in the world). My praise extends to the room, which is packed with amenities both big and small that make you feel like a king/queen. As an example, the curtains that go up/down at a touch of a button (located at your bedside) that open onto your stunning view of Tokyo (awesome day and especially night). My praise also extends to the staff who are so attentive and friendly. Regardless of their designated title, they helped respond to my requests quickly and eagerly. They welcomed me when I came back to the hotel and wished me a good day as I departed. The staff truly cared about me and what I wanted. The Cantonese restaurant had tasty food (even the tea menu was amazing), and the staff were just as attentive and caring. This was truly an amazing experience. That's why I titled the review as everyone should experience this hotel at least once. Chances are, though, that you'll want to experience it many times after that.
An older looking hotel with a small simple reception, original tiles and features and has good bedrooms. It is very close to the Ginza and Higashi Ginza subway stations. Asakusa for Senso-ji is only a few stops on the Higashi Ginza line. The staff were very helpful and there always seemed to be an English speaker available. The bed was comfortable and there was plenty of space for suitcases. There was even a small wardrobe. We asked for extra pillows and they arrived very quickly. There were loads of places very close for coffee and breakfast first thing. On our last evening we found a restaurant opposite the hotel called Tofuro advertising 'Edo' food. The menu looked good, but when we took the lift down to B2, the place was just amazing! It was like walking out into an old Edo street, with reconstructed buildings housing the tables on different levels (a bit like the Shambles in York museum). We were really pleased with our food, and loved the fact that the Japanese kids there were just as amazed as us! The hotel is a 10 min taxi ride to the T-Cat for the Limousine bus to Narita.
From the photographs, this looks like a big hotel, however they only occupy the top 6 or 7 floors of this building. Depending on where you want to go, it may be an inconvenient location as Roppongi, Shinjuku etc are on the other side of town so a 25 minute tube journey away, however it is close to Tsukiji, and Tokyo station and Ginza are a 20 minute walk, so then it may be convenient... I think I prefer the location of my usual hotel in Akasaka Mitsuke, but I've grown to like this one as well.
- large rooms
- massage chair in room
- fantastic views over the river / rainbow bridge / odaiba / roppongi - really superb
- good hotel staff
- a number of closeby (10 minute walk) stations so access to a number of lines
- decent air conditioning
- very comfortable rooms
- no bright lights from TV/clock radios to keep you awake
- rooms very quiet. No road noise (on the 37th floor) / no noise from neighbours or the corridor
- small hotel, so no waiting for lifts
- relatively easy to get to hotel from Haneda
- curtains don't offer full blackout, but pretty good
- no single station is close, rather two or three closeish stations - decent tube connections, but not great
- not a whole lot of dining choices very closeby (within 5 minutes walk)
- bathrooms are a little older than most hotels, but well maintained and very clean
- no close connecion to limousine bus (for airports)
If the location works for you, thoroughly recommend this hotel - the view is amazing
"Nice hotel in the heart of the shopping district"
I stayed at the Hotel Gracery for 4 nights for a work trip. The room was very cozy and clean. The staff was pleasant (though they really don't speak English very well - they do make an effort!). The hotel is conveniently located in the heart of the Ginza shopping district and is only a few blocks from the metro. The only draw back (which did not affect me) is that there is a massive construction project across the street. Luckily, I was staying in a room on the other side of the building and did not hear it.
I absolutely plan to stay here again on my next trip to Tokyo and will recommend that my colleagues do so as well.
