“Fantastic welcome & hospitality”
Wonderful breakfast and welcome in the heart of Christchurch. Don't stay anywhere else!
“First class service”
Beautiful building, with comfortable guest lounge. High quality room furnishings, nice attention to the little details. Peter was a very attentive host and extremely helpful eg printing boarding passes, storing luggage. Highly recommend this hotel.
“Would LUV to return whenever again in Christchurch, NZ.”
No question about it -- this city is still recovering from it's recent devastating earthquakes. However, this property remains remarkably unaffected! It's only a block away from the Botanical Gardens & many excellent nearby restaurants. The best feature is the wonderful people that run this place. Also, the breakfast selections included many substantial & delicious choices. Friendly, convenient & efficient; who could ask for more? Would definitely return on my next visit to Christchurch, NZ...
“Would have been perfect!”
We planned our trip to Christchurch long before the February earthquake that devastated the city. We decided to go ahead and make our trip as a show of support to the city and people of Christchurch. While the devastation was far worse than TV reports could ever convey, the city is still beautiful and the people are great. We had a great time and The Classic Villa was the perfect place to stay - and will be even better when the city gets back on its feet. The location is excellent - next to Hagley Park and the Botanical Gardens. With the downtown area still closed it was great to have a very good and open restaurant just two doors down. Even when we had to taxi to dinner, everything seemed to be within 5 to 10 minutes. And when the city gets back on its feet, you will never need to even get in a car - it's walking distance to everything downtown. And for those worried about the earthquakes, its comforting to be in a two-floor house that already survived the "big one." For those who prefer the boutique hotel experience, you can't beat The Classic Villa in Christchurch.
“Classic Villa is wonderful !!!”
Location is only a bloock from central downtown. The downtown, however, is fenced off due to earthquake damage. We ate a at "Cooking with Gas" just two doors away ... superior food and drink! Breakfast at Classic Villa was full service with fruits, breads, cereal, coffee, tea etc. Very clean and nice hotel. Short walk to the park.
“Location, Location , Location”
The Classic Villa's is located in the arts district of Christchurch 1 Km from the Catherdal in one direction and only 500m to the Avon River and there very English Punt and only 300m in the other direct to the Musuem and Botanic Gardens. Great Location! Rooms have all modern conveniences and they have a fantastic help yourself breakfast in the spotless communal kitchen included in your tariff. They will cook you a breakfast for a small charge if you wish. Nothing was too much trouble for Anna and the staff and we intend to stay there again on our next visit.
“Fantastic experience”
We really enjoyed our weekend break at Classic Villa. We enjoyed the personal service, breakfast was unforgettable. The heritage room was small but very comfortable. I'm sure the bigger rooms are perfect. The location is excellent within walking distance of many venues. We will be back!
“Best kept secret”
This B&B is centrally located to downtown, art museum, etc. The amenities were above expectations and the breakfast was fabulous. This place is a "must stay" if you're coming to Christchurch!
“Wonderful!”
Excellent location-walking distance to central city, restaurants, museums and botanic garden. A very beautiful hotel, very elegant. Ideal for a romantic weekend get-away. Gracious host-- so helpful with all arrangements! I am hoping to go back again.
“Great Classic Villa”
We booked here based on others reviews. The first night we were the only couple. Peter still put out a lavish breakfast of fruits, breads, cereals, meats and cheeses. He makes each individual cup of coffee with his espresso machine. Our room was cozy, clean and the fireplace was a nice touch. The location is perfect if you want to walk to the botanical gardens, museums, or craft center. I highly recommend you try Classic Villas is you want a boutique hotel experience not a big hotel.
