We had just one issue with this hotel. We had booked two rooms on the one booking and when we got there we were two floors apart. We requested that we have rooms next to each other, but this was not possible so we ended up on the same floor, which was disappointing.

Located conveniently close to Christchurch amenities, this smallish hotel provides all the comforts you would expect from Holiday Inn. The room was tidy and comfortable, the hotel staff helpful and knowledgeable about the local events and attractions, and the lounge and restaurant were above average. I would definitely return to this hotel!

Nice hotel in a lovely quite area next to the river.The hotel has large rooms although we did stay in a deluxe suite the other rooms looked ok aswell.We enjoyed the 10 minute stroll down by the river into the ctr of christchurch we stayed for 4 nights dec 2009 and would not hesitate recomending it my friends kevin & shirley gtr manchester england

“Hard to find gem in the center of CHC”

Though I had no complaints after finding the hotel, it took us a good half hour to find after we arrived late night. During that time of the night, especially of Friday nights, CHC downtown is not a pleasant place and is crawling with shady characters.

This was by far the best hotel we stayed at during our whole trip. The staff were friendly and efficient and the rooms were spacious and comfortable. The hotel is located in a quiet location 10 minutes walk from the centre of Christchurch.

Staff was prompt, professional. Room was ready when we arrived late at night, clean, and very nice. Restaurant was classy and the food excellent.

had a great stay at holiday inn on avon within walking distance of city but far enough away to be quiet, clean friendly and well looked after only let down was pool arear windows and out side court yard dirty, locks broken on door and window of pool room

We had an extremely pleasant stay at this hotel. The rooms were clean and very comfortable. This is an older style hotel and some areas require updating. However, this did not detract from the fact that hotel staff have done a fantastic job in the general upkeep of hotel and its rooms in particular.
