Stayed 5 nights whilst visiting relatives nearby. Reception staff very friendly and helpful. Rooms large and beautifully clean. Beds extrtemely conmfortable. Plenty of towles and soap provided but no extras like shampoo, body lotion, shower caps etc. Overall excellent value for money. Spent most of our time with relatives so didn't try the breakfast or nearby restaurant facilitiies.

I stayed for two nights for a short break on my own and found Ty'n Y Wern an excellent place to stay. The staff are very welcoming and helpful, the room had good facilities and an amazing view. The bed was very comfortable and I had a good nights sleep both nights. Breakfast was very good with lots of choice and the two evening meals I had were excellent and good value for money. Just 15 minutes walk from Llangollen this guest house is ideally situated away from the middle of town but with easy access to it.
Owner Richard has made this hotel a warm and welcoming place. Food is very well-prepared (up-market menu) and wine list excellent. Very relaxed bar with great staff - a real feeling that you are welcome to stay, and a clientele who are equally friendly. The whole hotel has character, and your room has a small port decanter with two glasses to welcome you (a very nice touch). Showers work reasonably well and hot water works. Free parking is provided but the entrance is a bit narrow (not for large cars or caravans). Breakfast was continental, but copious, and hot food could be ordered for a price. Internet works on all floors but some mobiles have difficulty on the top floors.
Second time i`ve stayed here, i wouldn`t dream of going anywhere else now. Location is first rate, right on the river Dee, a stones throw from the steam railway and horse drawn canal barges.
Rooms are small but, spotlessly clean, the staff treat you like one of the family, nothing is too much trouble. Shower is hot and easy to operate, all towels, soap, etc is provided along with tea and coffee in the room. TV was a trifle small for me with my bad eyesight this was mounted high on the wall so, you can only watch it while lying on the bed, which was so comfortable i kept dozing off whilst watching it !
Last week was very quiet, i`m assured the place gets packed in the Summer and at weekends. I found it very peaceful while a was there.
The food is amazing, the restaurant is situated next to the bar which is handy. I chose the Chilli Concane on the first night, its advertised as "Hot and Spicy". Which it is!! If you don`t like hot and spicy, order something else! It`s exactly what it says it is. The menu is very extensive and there`s something for all. That Chilli was so good i had it again the second night. The breakfast is big and very well cooked, i opted to leave the Black Pudding off.
What really makes this hotel is the staff, Josie the landlady is a real character, along with family members and the irripresable Alison, they`ve got it all sewn up. I would recommend this hotel to the Queen and Prince Phillip, its that good. I`ll be back next year! Steve Rutland. Sussex
Helpful staff, wonderful location, four poster beds and a spa. Not bad for £55.
The only downside was the price of dinner. But a 10 minute walk into the town past a wonderful river, one can find lots of places to eat.
Stayed with a couple of friends 23rd to 25th August 2014. Both rooms excellent - clean and warm. Very quiet at night. Bathrooms clean and very nice. Plenty of hot water. Also TV in rooms. Very good tea and coffee making facilities in rooms. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful, constantly asking if everything is okay. Had breakfast and evening meals on both days. Food was excellent in all respects and very generous portions. A very good choice of dishes and very reasonably priced. Had a bottle of Chardonnay with one meal for £12/13 which is very reasonable for a restaurant. Bar prices are also very reasonable. Staff working very hard and everyone including manageress/owner very pleasant and helpful. All members of our party would visit again and recommend to others.
