Although a little tricky to find in the dark, that was where any 'issues' with this B&B ended; and given that we were greeted in the road outside by Dilly, who seemed to have realised we were lost, this hardly seems an issue in itself.
The room was cosy, the bed was comfy and the breakfast is well worth returning for on its own.
I would thoroughly recommend to a friend and would definitely return.
Wonderful hotel, with very friendly and helpful staff who provide first class service. Didn't know what to expect, as these kind of hotels can often be pretentious and stuffy. Not here! Made us feel very welcome. Free room upgrade to a deluxe room - which was fantastic and a lovely surprise. Great food and service in the Brasserie. The walled gardens (especially near the brasserie) are quite beautiful and a credit to the gardening team. Overall a very relaxing, quiet stay in a friendly and welcoming luxury hotel. Went for a bike ride(on the free hotel bikes) around the extensive hotel grounds, great fun and a great way of exploring the 500(?) acres! Reassuringly expensive, and worth the money. Superb.
This gorgeous manor and its cottages on well-manicured grounds are perfectly suited for a quiet yet pampered getaway to one of the most picturesque regions of the Cotswalds. The village of Castle Combe (right outside the manor's gate) is an easy stroll among well preserved homes and a cathedral dating back to the 13th century. The staff is attentive and the quality at the manor is nothing short of world-class. We stayed in one of the cottages which was well-appointed and included a very large master bathroom. This place takes you back several centuries, and does so in style. Other well-known attractions are not too far away such as Stonehenge, Bath, etc. but there are also plenty of lesser-known destinations throughout Wiltshire for those bent on exploring away from conventional "tourist traps". All in all, we had a great time, even despite the constant rains of November. The fireplaces in the lobby and bar are perfect for warming up and relaxing with a well-prepared drink, or two, at the end of the day. Highly recommend!
Recent, purpose built, avenue of rooms provide a very high standard of accommodation. This is then complemented by a characterful pub with a superb menu and brilliant cooking, both for breakfast and for main meals. Serving staff were friendly and attentive and Mike the receptionist and maitre d' looked after us extremely well. We were delighted by our stay.

In the great tradition of English farmhouse B&Bs. In a pleasant country village, but within easy striking distance of the motorway. Short walk to the village pub - always a plus. Pleasant, unfussy hosts. Spacious rooms. All in all good value for money.
"Really nice pub in a friendly picturesque village."
This pub really undersells how good it is, the food is superb rooms comfortable and a great fresh English Breakfast with the papers was a real treat, we stayed in the family room at the top of the pub huge room ideal for a large family.

From first look to lasting impression, this historic Hotel was a pleasure to experience. The setting is lovely, in a tiny village close to Chippenham and not far from Bath. The landlord is absolutely charming and the staff welcoming and helpful. Although the place is under refurbishment, this in no way detracted from it's comfort and friendly atmosphere.
