“Excellent Location, great stay”

Hotel itself was great, its right on the beachfront. The Hotel restaurant service was excellent and the food was of high quality for very reasonable rates. Loved the location.

Area recommendations
We only spent one night there, but would recommend staying longer.

“Best hotel in Harrison for the Lake and the Hot Springs”

We were upgraded to a lake view room on the top floor of the East Tower because the hotel was not full. The hot spring pools (inside and out) are lovely, there's a big fireplace in the main hotel sitting room, and a bar which is open in the evening.

Must see
Make sure you try the hot springs and rent a boat from the pier opposite the hotel
Dining
We didn't try the hotel restaurants, but went for dinner to the Black Forest Steak & Schnitzel House nearby for lovely food and a great atmosphere.

“Will be back”

The hotel personnel went out of their way to help us and make us comfortable. The rooms they gave us were even better than we were expecting. Excellent place to relax!

When to go
Best sunny, warm weather during 2nd and 3rd weeks of August; can take advantage of beaches and sightseeing trips in good weather.

“Getting better”

We have stayed at the Harrison several times in the past 30 years. It is a great place to relax. The employees were all extremely polite and helpful this time, even more than previous visits. We will go back.

“Will be back next year”

My first time to the area. Beautiful spot in a lovely town. The pools were well worth the drive off the highway to stop for the day.

Area recommendations
The lake front is so picturesque. you don't have to leave the area or hotel

“Mostly Satisfied”

While the hotel is clean and comfortable, it is somewhat over-rated. We found the service excellent and received a complimentary upgrade on our room when we inquired but it underscored how we would have been disappointed with the hotel had we not received it. It generally feels somewhat dated. The hot springs are clearly the draw but the adult only option is not as intimate as the photos would imply - better marketing than reality. We had mixed results from the spa experience. The restaurant choices during the week were somewhat limited with dinner choices being either a buffet or dining and dancing in the Copper Room. For variety, there are more interesting choices outside of the hotel. The setting is beautiful with well maintained grounds and a quaint front street for browsing and dining choices. Over-all we would consider the destination again but with revised expectations.

Area recommendations
Sandpiper golf is well maintained and picturesque. The course is well worth playing but be prepared for Mosquitos and have a good bug spray, especially first thing in the morning. The Falls is an entertaining course close by and plays fairly narrow with interesting elevation changes as it meanders along the ridge. Both were enjoyable.

“Superb View of the Lake”

We were there for a dinner in the Copper Room for our granddaughter's high school graduation. The buffet dinner was adequate in terms of quantity and quality of food. It is too bad that half the room was done eating before the other half made it to the buffet. Also, they seemed to run out of certain items like the ceasar salad and roast beef. They did bring more, but if you sat down with your food, it would take too long to go through the line again. It was a little disappointing to be in the Copper Room on a Friday night, and not have their usual live entertainment. Breakfast in the Lakeside Restaurant is only the buffet, but you have a very good variety of foods, and most were cooked fresh - except the bacon that must have been cooked the day before. It is quite pricey at $15.95 per person, and you have to just keep reminding yourself of the location and the view. The hot spring pools were a little on the cool side except for one of the two indoor ones. The pools could be kept a little cleaner - without the overdose of chlorine. The king bed in the bedroom was Very comfortable, and noise was at a minimum overnight. Overall, it was not a bad experience, but again, a little costly, for the quality of some services.

“Another great stay”

We have been to The Harrison a number of times but this time we decided to stay in the main hotel. The room itself was excellent. The king size bed was very comfortable. We requested a room overlooking the pools so we expected daytime noise - kids enjoying the water is fun to listen to. What I didn't count on was the sound from the adjoining room. Being the main (old) hotel building, there wasn't the soundproofing that you get in the rest of the hotel so we could hear the buzz of people talking and the sound from their television. We will be returning to the Harrison, but will choose a different wing of the hotel. It truly is a beautiful hotel that is rich in history.

When to go
Unless you like a lot of children around, don't go during spring break. CAUTION - not all school districts have the same spring break dates so do your homework

“okay experience”

it seemed to be quite an old hotel and the furnishings need updating - there is no a/c and the room seemed very stuffy when we first checked int. we also had a plugged drain in the shower. okay accommodation but really enjoyed the hot springs which were the main attraction!
