Booked hotel for one night so we could go to the Chichester Festival Theatre. As it was also Goodwood we everywhere was very busy. Staff were welcoming and helpful, e.g. in ordering taxis and advising on directions. Room was clean and neat but the absence of a duvet under the bedspread was a surprise and left us a little too cold by morning. Shower was only just satisfactory: water flow very slow and cramped for space.

Stayed for one night to go to Goodwood horse races. Staff were amazing! Our taxi we booked to take us to the racecourse was very late, so one of the staff offered to give us a lift so we wouldn't miss the first race. We had lunch and dinner at The Dean and food was great. Room was spacious, clean and comfortable bed. Breakfast was great and again amazing service from the staff.
We had to attend a party in central Chichester this was an ideal location, a three minute walk from most things. When you first arrive, the building looks like it has seen better days and we did not enjoy walking through the pub to get to our room but once you were in your room, it was lovely. Our bed was comfortable, we got to bed quite late and slept well. The parking area is small but enough for residents to park and very convenient. We enjoyed our breakfast and the staff were very friendly. Yes, we would probably stay there again if the need arose.
Booked this hotel as able to accept three adults in a room ( taking Daughter to university).
no third bed in room on arrival and condition of third bed meant we put the mattress on the floor, as frightened the frame would give way.
Bathroom modern and clean - no toiletries other than shampoo pump on the wall of shower ( so take your own)
Obviously doing a lot of work to upgrade, decorate the hotel so some decor understandable but does look sad and in need of new furniture in the restaurant.
Had an evening meal in the pub which was lovely and freshly prepared, and breakfast had plenty to choose from and a help yourself to whatever you want. The only down side of breakfast on a Sunday morning was it did not open until 09.00, would have prefered that to have been earlier as would have other travellers from reactions gleamed.
Chichester is set about 12 km from the sea, and 65 km from London. Although steeped in Roman and Anglo-Saxon history (an 11th century Gothic cathedral is near the city centre), today the town caters to tourists and offers a robust arts scene. In addition to an annual arts festival, Chichester offers a selection of theatres, galleries, and a symphony orchestra.
