“A pleasant weekend of relaxation”
I booked this hotel for a weekend as a sort of mini-honeymoon and a chance to sleep away from home for my fiancé and I.
-It was extraordinarily quiet and relaxing; the room was very clean save for a stain in the closet (sometimes those things can't be helped--it wasn't that noticeable).
-The bed was very comfortable and sometimes difficult to convince yourself to leave in the morning.
-The staff was very friendly and always greeted us as we were coming and going.
-The TV's were old, which was a tiny bit disappointing, but on the other hand it kept us from wanting to sit in and watch TV all day (which was nice).
-The WiFi internet was free (awesome) and I didn't notice any issues with speed... we actually used it to stream Netflix a few times and had no issues (the hotel was not super crowded at the time, however).
-The pool wasn't too cold, the hot tub was great. There is a small fitness center with a handful of machines, a TV and water cooler adjacent to the pool area. We did not use it but the machines seemed new and in good condition.
We had originally met in this area, so this hotel was a great choice as it gave us close proximity to the things we wanted to do, which were nowhere near the city of Chicago. Stay here for quiet and a bit of luxury but if you'll be doing a lot of stuff in the city, be prepared to take the Metra train or a cab, or rent a car. All in all, given the opportunity to have another weekend like this, I would book this hotel again for sure.
