“Very Impressed”

An older historical building in the trendy "Printers Row" clean comfortable modern and walking distance to Grant Park and the "Loop" with its shopping and entertainment and restaurants.

“Practical Perfection”

If your hotel expectations include a grand lobby boasting velvet and chandeliers, this one is not for you. If you're looking for friendly service and a great room, you've found what I consider to be one of the best in my experience. The lobby was tiny but the rooms (I saw two) were clean, comfortable and well appointed......better than what we had at the Ritz last year. If I have one quibble, it's that I've come to expect just a bit more from the quickie breakfast fare.

“Great hotel!”

Can't say enough nice things about this hotel. Great location. Extremely clean. Everyone was friendly. Should I find myself in Chicago again, I'll be staying at the Wyndham Blake.

“Great hotel - first class”

Breakfast had a lot to be said for it - it was really sad - all served was muffins and fruit with hot tea or coffee - if you wanted milk they charged you for a small glass of milk - $4.14. I have had way better breakfast! We walked a block up and ate at Panara Bread. As far as I am concerned either offer more choices for the free breakfast or do with out it.

“Blake, a perfect little hotel right downtown.”

Okay, so here are the bad points: - continental breakfast is merely muffins and fruit and coffee Okay, that's about it. It was very clean, comfortable, quiet, even on the second floor, WITH a painting crew outside the door! I've stayed in hundreds of hotels throughout the world and this one was as clean, well-staffed and appointed as any I've stayed at. BIG King bed, nice sheets, good quality flatscreen, quality toiletries and towels, and nice, attentive staff. There are certainly nicer hotels, bigger rooms (this one was NOT one I'd call tiny, had a nice desk, a chair AND king bed), more amenities, but for the price, cleanliness and location, I will be back.

“Great hotel, great location”

I enjoyed staying at the Wyndham Blake. This is what I found: + Staff were very friendly. + Room was very comfortable and very clean + The hotel at the time of writing looks like it's undergone a refurb - it looks great. - There was some very loud road work happening outside my room one morning, but that was a freak occurrence and wasn't within control of the hotel. - The extractor fan in the toilet, and the room fan/heating is very loud. This is easily resolved by a) closing the toilet door and b) turning off the room fan/heating when you're sleeping. + Very convenient location One thing I should mention: Breakfast was included, but it was table service rather than buffet service. I personally don't like being served early in the morning, and then having to tip for the priviledge. I'd prefer to get my breakfast from the buffet, become human, and then start dealing with people. All in all, a great hotel and I do recommend it.
