NICE BUT NEEDS A FEW IMPROVEMENTS

Posted 21-Jul-2014
Pros: Friendliest staff and very clean.
Cons: Restaurants were low quality with bad service.
Location: Great location for shopping and walking distance to everything we came here for.
Hotel was extremely nice and staff was incredibly pleasant. Our room was very spacious and clean but the beds were very uncomfortable for a 5 star hotel such as this. Stayed in hotels half the cost more with better beds. Valet service was longer then what they told us on weekends. Took 30 minutes to get our car when they said 10-15. Our GPS took us to the wrong location and I called the hotel 2 times and got different directions each time. There is a upper Wabash and lower Wabash and there on the upper. I was on the lower because the GPS directed us there. When I said something to them they said that happens all the time and people get lost. If that happens all the time then they should be a little clearer when giving directions. Hotel restaurant was a joke. We ate breakfast 2 times there and took well over a hour and over 90 minutes the second visit. Waiter didn't show up to take our order for over 30 minutes and everything we needed, we had to ask the bus boy for. Food was average to poor quality and over and under cooked. This hotel was definitely one of the nicest and cleanest we have stayed in but lacking the 5 star support to go along with its quality. There are only 3 elevators making the elevator use very slow. The views of the river were amazing and the location was excellent. When I checked out and they asked how everything was I said great except for our restaurant experiences and they were like really and that was it. No apologies or meal taken off bill.

Nice but not the best

Posted 17-Jul-2014
Pros: Location
Cons: Staff friendliness and helpfulness
Location: dead centre 2mins from the "mile" and right on the river, great location for shopping and all tourist things within walking distance.
Never actually felt welcome at this hotel, staff all seemed too busy to care, probably think we are more customers than guests. room was very large, although I asked for a river view and got a city view, not a huge issue really but still not what I asked for. Hotel was hard to navigate around. Nice but not what i expected form Trump!

Trump got it right with this amazing property!

We booked the base level room and it delivered. Large room, beautifully appointed with many thoughtful details. The kitchenette even came with a sub zero mini fridge! The spa was beautiful with lush towels, robes and infused water. We also enjoyed an evening at The Terrace with amazing votes of the skyline and river. We will be back! The only inconvenience we experienced were the slow elevators...but the destinations were worth the wait!

Beautiful getaway spot in the heart of the city!

Posted 02-Jul-2014
Pros: Very large indoor pool and fitness center with amazing views! Even the locker room is beautifully furnished. It is very centrally located!
Cons: Nothing!
Location: Water taxi, Ruth's Chris Steakhouse, Hancock Center, House of Blues, Howl at the Moon, Harry Caray's, Dick's Last Resort, Smith & Wollensky's.
My husband and I spent my birthday here and absolutely LOVED it! The hotel is beautiful, and there are very professional employees at every turn ready to assist you. Customer service is of utmost importance. The room was immaculate, beautifully decorated, supremely comfortable, and the location was superb. The amenities go on and on. Even the toiletries were of very high quality. Great attention to detail, i.e. separate tub and shower, and TV screen in bathroom mirror! We had a beautiful city view, and the hotel is located right on the river close to Michigan Avenue and many prime restaurants, bars, and shops such as those in Water Tower Place. I cannot wait to go back! Self parking is $54 with 24-hour in & out privileges, or valet parking is available for more. You can walk all over the city from here to Navy Pier, Aon Park, Grant Park, and up and down the Chicago River.

First time in Chicago, the location of the Hotel was amazing, near everything. Staff super friendly, room was beautiful with even a tv inside the bathroom's mirror (LOL) Would go back without hesitation.

Great amenities and gym. Concierge was spot on, we used them a lot. Gwendolyn was awesome! Location was fantastic and there are great restaurants easily within walking distance. Spent four nights and will stay there again if/when we go back to Chi town.

Very nice hotel.

Large rooms. Beautiful furnishings and bathroom. Comfy bed. Only qualm was it took ages for housekeeping to collect the laundry, bring pillows etc. Lifts were also a bit slow. But otherwise, impeccable stay.

Beautiful hotel close to everything.

Overpriced at $695 a night but I think there was a event or festival that weekend. The 16th floor patio was amazing and they give preference to hotel guests. The wait was over an hour on Saturday night but they seated us right away because we were staying in the hotel. I would stay there again.
