Chicago Hotel with lots of character

Posted 21-Apr-2015
It was a very nice stay. Everyone was friendly, the service was good, and the room was fantastic. It is currently undergoing renovations, and there was scaffold and rope everywhere. I didn't notice it after a while, but it was strange to walk out of the doors and then through the metal cage. Other than that it was a very nice stay. The location was very convenient for my wife and I.

Comfortable hotel close to the action

Posted 20-Apr-2015
Pros: The hotel had a lovely, friendly bar and restaurant was great for a lovely meal or pizza.
Cons: The location is very central which comes with some noise at night but overall very satisfactory.
Location: Walking distance to Navy Pier and 360 deg view top as well as restaurants and shops.
Whitehall has a lovely character and friendly, helpful staff. We enjoyed our stay and found the location ideal for walking around the city.

Good location, very welcoming staff

Decent looking room. Bathroom was small. The bed posts were wobbly. The room doesn't have any sound proofing. I could constantly hear emergency vehicles and doors slamming from inside. Not bad for the price but there are better hotels.

will always stay here

Pros: Pros: wonderful friendly staff, comfortable bed, and breathtaking view of the city
Cons: Con: The only con we had was the bathroom. It was small and when you turned on the shower it squealed at you.
Location: It's within walking distance to several shops, restaurants, Sears Tower (Hancock Building) and Water Tower Place.
Con: The only con we had was the bathroom. It was small and when you turned on the shower it squealed at you. I imagine the reason for the small bathroom was due to the overall age of the building and back then they didn't make much room in the bathroom. It's also likely why the shower would squeal. A large bathroom area isn't necessary so it's not a make or break for us. We loved staying here. It's within walking distance to several shops, restaurants, Sears Tower (Hancock Building) and Water Tower Place. We used Lyft or Uber to get around and they came very promptly to the hotel front. Valet parking was wonderful and the staff was always very friendly and helpful. We will ALWAYS stay here when we visit Chicago.
