Hotel staff was beyond rude.

I got in late - around 10:30 pm. Staff didn't even bother opening the door for us. When checking in, the front desk was rude. I had booked a king and ended up getting a full. Not very comfortable for two people who had been traveling all day. I booked the room based on the reviews of how great the staff was. Very dissatisfied.

Perfect in so many ways!

Cons: My room was on the inside and the only unfortunate was the constant smell of steak in my room from Ditka's (I think)
Location: Location is the best, the very best.
Whether for business, long term stay or short holiday....EXCELLENT in every way.

Stay away!!

First of all, TV wasn't working and I complained about that and they came the next day to fix it, 1 hour before my checkout. The bathtub wasn't clean. Some hair from the previous guests were in the bathtub. Complained about all that during checkout and all they said was we will avoid this in the future.

Where to stay in Chicago with so many to choose...

Pros: Location and Beds.
Location: Shopping - all brand stores on Michigan Ave. A very large Macy's 5 minutes away You can spend hours at the Art Institute, Field Museum & Planetarium
I originally was not going to stay here but I am glad I did. I was here for 5 days. Excellent location - Chicago is FLAT so you can walk everywhere and if you want to do the taxi... Field Museum is about $12-15 away or a 45 minute walk. The beds are amazing and slept like a rock each night. Hancock tower is across the street and for me - better than the Sears tower. Of course Cheese Cake Factory is also across the street. It is a quite hotel I had no noise issues and the air con is excellent and responds well which you don't get with a lot of the brand new hotels. The comp coffee is located in the lobby... no tea and coffee facilities in the room itself. I really enjoyed my stay and glad I made the decision to stay here.

Not as advertised

The hotel is under construction. I told the staff weeks before our arrival that it was our anniversary and I wanted the best room possible with a great view, and our room faced a dark alley. Our refrigerator was broken. The hotel is deceptively small, only two rickety elevators that you have to wait a long time for.

Staffs are nice but the hotel is quiet old and the room behind us was very noisy.. Wake us up at 8:00am everyday..we stayed at 7th floor

Clean, convenient and casual

Pros: We liked the location convenience best especially from our room on the 21st floor.
Very nice stay at a hotel in the center of the Rush Street action. The entire staff was courteous and professional. The highlight was the cleanliness of the room, especially the bath. A recommend!

Excellent Staff

Pros: The Hotel Staff were outstanding and the beds were very comfortable.
Cons: The rooms could be touched up a bit. ex. cracks, wallpaper etc.
Location: Location is great. We walked everywhere while in the City.
As first timers to Chicago we were not looking for a 5 Star hotel as we didn't plan on spending much time in it. The Whitehall was close to many things we wanted to visit and was good location just far enough away from the chaos. We were not overly impressed with the hotel itself, our room was very small, and needed a little cosmetic love. To be fair, we were expecting an older feel hotel as we had done our research. The Whitehall staff made up for any disappointments we had! They were willing to help with anything and everything and were very professional and pleasant to deal with! Oh, the beds are very comfortable!! If we were returning to Chicago this is a great place to stay if you're not expecting the red carpet and just somewhere less expensive with all the things you need. It was good bang for our buck while visiting!

Nice Hotel, great location.

We stayed a few nights it was our first time in Chicago, we loved this Hotel they were very nice and helpful with everything they did. It was clean and beautiful and we loved the staff. You can't go wrong with this one. Great location too. Within walking distance of everything.
