“Great hotel minus one unfriendly front deskman!”
Looking for an apt so wanted something downtown but also affordable. This was a perfect spot. As I said, everyone was great except one of the men at the front desk, but I will defintely book again if needed and recommend to visitors!
“Noisy, but convenient”
Hotel location was great, but $57/night parking, a terrible view and loud hallways took away from the experience. Next time we'll chose a hotel off Mich. Ave for nicer rooms.
“The best hotel if you are visiting the American Girl doll store!”
Outstanding service, everyone was awesome. We called ahead and the hotel had milk and cookies sent up for our daughter. Just a great experience! Also the hotel is pet friendly, which is a plus!
“Best value on Michigan ave.”
The bedding is not overly sophisticated. It isn't horrible either. The hotel staff I found to be exceptional, as well as our Michigan Ave View. Yes, I could have paid twice as much to stay at th R-C and it would have been nicer, but my mother and I were there to shop and see a show and it was more than sufficient for that purpose. Room service was extremely prompt, with special requests met promptly.
“Definitely not to be considered”
The hotel is in a good location, but the hotel room was dirty, we even had a dirty toothbrush from the previous occupant in the bathroom. Empty beverage botlles were in the hall by the elevators at 8:00a in the morning and were still there at 11:30am when we returned. The hotel would be acceptable if the cost to stay there was at a Motel 6 rate.
“One of Chicago's Best Hotels in terms of location and quality of rooms”
Loved the hotel, convenience of location, the rooms were so comfortable and met all of our needs. They offer Free complimentary coffee and tea which was a VERY nice amenity in the room.
“Fantastic hotel for the traveling shopper”
The location alone simply cannot be beat, as it lies between the shops of 900 Michigan Avenue and The Water Tower Place. All the best shopping, food, and nightlife are within walking distance. The hotel staff was friendly and the concierge went above and beyond to make our trip fantastic. That said, I know where I will be staying next time I return to Chicago.
“great location in the heart of the michigan avenue”
we came to chicago for the first time to watch the chargers bears game and had a great 4 day stay. the hotel was centrally located to everything and walking distance to all food, shopping and sites. the hotel room was very nice, went with my wife and two kids and the hotel let me have a roll away which helped with our 4 person in one room situation. the hotel was clean, beds were soft. one complaint, the gym/workout room stunk. the gym was so little, and so crowded, i walked in and out in 10 seconds, two sweaty guys posing in the small jail cell size weight room. also, there was no pool to swim in, but its chicago in the winter, so oh well. other than those items, very good hotel, in great location, with very good service. would stay there again.
“Dirty Westin, Yes, Dirty”
Room had trash in the drawers and cabinets from previous guests. Not what I expect when going to a Westin. Called front desk, they barely said sorry or anything like that. Had housekeeping come up and remove the trash from drawers. I explained to front desk that while that was needed I was still concerned about what else may have not been cleaned from previous desks. Would not switch us to a new room - and did not even offer to comp us for anything. First and Last stay at this Westin. In addition, stains on bathroom floor from where plumbing had been leaking. More hair in tub than a barber shop. Totally sick for westin standards. Just being honest here.
“great location, but not four star”
This was a great hotel in terms of location but the room were small and the staff seemed overwhelmed. We had an issue with the room's cleanliness when we arrived and after being on hold for 10 minutes the manager changed our rooms and comped us a bottle of wine to A+ for service. I did expect more with a four star rating. Also this Westin has no "club" level for Starwood preferred guests, just free water and internet. Also they allow pets in the hotel so the hallway carpets have some stains. YOu can tell they are clean but they should be replaced if the rating is 4 star.
