“A great place to stay in Chicago.”

My stay at the Palmer House was excellent. The staff was courteous & helpful. The accommodations were clean and comfortable, provided at the agreed upon rate. The location was a block away from the art museum, a Starbucks on the first floor - open early and late, and plenty of restaurants nearby.

“very charming and customer service oriented”

The Palmer House was a wonderful girls weekend get away. We were able to walk to shopping and dining. Several wonderful restaurants were right out side our hotel door. After a full day of museums and shopping we enjoyed the lobby area which was decorated for Christmas. However, the beautiful historical architecture could be enjoyed anytime. We had a nice relaxing appetizer and enjoyed the festive atmosphere. From check in to check out the service was wonderful! I have to mention the valet service. Wow! We felt like royalty! Had it not been for our female instinct to go shopping we would have never left the hotel beds. THEY WERE SO COMFORTABLE! WE CAN NOT WAIT UNTIL NEXT CHRISTMAS SEASON TO DO IT ALL AGAIN!

“Impeccable Service, Palatial Setting!”

If you appreciate the stunning beauty of 135-year-old marble floors, the incredible lobby ceiling , silk wallpaper, gold elevator doors and a baby grand piano or two, the Palmer House Hilton is the right place. The pool was under renovation while we were there last week, and some of the restaurants weren't open. In fact, you couldn't get out the State Street exit at all. But none of those things took away from the splendor of the hotel. The room service was pricey but amazing - the nicest meal we ate in Chicago came to us! The hotel staff was consistently nice, pleasant, and happy to help. We even got a room upgrade - we booked a king, but left a booking note saying we'd like two doubles if a room came open. On our 2nd day they upgraded us, and got us into a stunning new room within the hour. Impeccable service! From now on, the Palmer House is our Chicago hotel.

“Best Hotel in the Grant Park area of Chicago”

I selected this hotel based on reasonable cost compared to othernhotels in the area, location and history of the hotel. This hotel is beautiful and unique; not a "cookie cutter" type of hotel that are found everywhere. Great history in this hotel. The lobby ceiling is amazing. The rooms were clean, comfortable and the bed was very comfortable. I stayed at this hotel b/c attending a concert in Soldier Field and wanted easy access to State Street and MI Ave. All amenities are within walking distance. Plenty to do around this area. Also, parking was easy. On Monroe Street you can have your car valet parked at the entrance of the hotel OR you can park your car one block on the right (east of the hotel) in a public garage which is the official hotel parking garage which is less expensive. They validated and charged to credit card the parking ticket at check-in which allowed unlimited in and out of garage. There is access to the hotel pool but the use of the gym is an extra charge. I highly recommend this hotel.

“Clean & Comfy”

The hotel staff was very friendly at check-in. I arrived early and they allowed me to check in and get comfy in my room which was a huge plus since I was alone in the city with no where else to go at that time. The room was clean and spacious and the bed was extremely comfortable. The location of the hotel was ideal with lost of shopping, restauraunts, and entertainment close by. Check-out was very easy and able to be done over the phone.

“Very Pleased at Palmer”

This is a beautiful hotel! Even if you don't stay overnight, it is well worth a visit to sit in the lobby, see the Empire Room and take a peek in the ballroooms. If you are a history buff, you will be amazed at all the stars who performed there! Our room was clean and the bed and linens were very comfortable. The hotel is older, so don't expect the spaciousness and modernity of a modern upscale hotel. But our room was lovely in its own right. The concierge was extremely helpful and the desk staff very pleasant. The location is ideal, withing walking distance to the art gallery, theatre, parks, shopping and restaurants. Museums and the aquarium can be easily accessed by bus or taxi.We would love to stay there again!

“Loved It!”

It was very nice. It was busy, but good busy. Lots of people enjoying themselves. Good to have Starbucks downstairs. And my room service salad was awesome. Loved it. Only thing I didn't like was the $38/night parking. And the parking garage is a long walk.
