David Burke's Primehouse - Since its inception in 2006, David Burke’s Primehouse has continued to redefine the modern American steakhouse by pushing the envelope of culinary creativity. The menu is marked by notable and whimsical dishes that are signature to the eclectic and innovative style of Chef David Burke, such as Pretzel Crusted Crab Cake and Kobe Beef Sashimi on Himalayan rock salt. The restaurant dry-ages its meats in a Himalayan salt-tiled aging room on premise. The result is perfectly marble-ized, tender beef with a rich depth of flavor.
Burke’s Dining Room - A modern interpretation of the classic “chef’s table,” the brand new Burke’s Dining Room is a private venue ideal for special occasions. It features rotating seasonal menus by Chef David Burke, with a Primehouse chef presiding over each event and preparing each course. The space boasts an exclusive dining atmosphere where personal detail and service is thoroughly maintained. Suitable for a guest list of up to 20 people, Burke’s Dining Room includes an impressive temperature-controlled wine storage display, modern, contemporary furnishings as well as custom artworks. Or if you prefer to host an event in one of our upstairs private dining rooms, our experienced team can provide customized menus in a full range of restaurant, club or lounge-style ambiances.
Primehouse Bar – Perfect for after work cocktails or a full meal, the newly renovated Primehouse Bar is an extension of our classic steakhouse where guests can enjoy an innovative bar menu or choose from signature menu items from the complete Primehouse menu. Burke's Bacon Bar Chef David Burke brings his signature style to Burke’s Bacon Bar with a selection of bacon-inspired palm-sized sandwiches dubbed “handwiches” as well as sides, salads and sweets.
JIMMY - Sophisticated and inviting, JIMMY at The James Chicago offers an upscale, unpretentious environment to enjoy a progressive cocktail menu. The menu showcases an exclusive list of small batch and artisan spirits, both local and worldwide. Creative cocktails include modern updates on classic drinks including the mojito, vesper, julep, and more. Designed by three-time James Beard award-winning designer, Thomas Schlesser, the intimate space includes warm earth tones, walnut paneling, bronze surfaces and contrasting chrome details.
The hotel's 2,500-square-foot fitness center offers state-of-the-art cardio and weight equipment. Cardio machines feature individual TVs. Personal-training sessions are available for a surcharge. The James is located in the heart of The Magnificent Mile -- home to the best of Chicago's dining, nightlife and, of course, shopping. The Ohio Street Beach along Lake Michigan is about a mile east of the hotel. Guests who enjoy running, walking, bicycling, or in-line skating should bring their gear for exercising along the 20-mile lakefront path. Bicycles and in-line skates are available for rent at several beachfront locations. During summer months, lifeguards are on duty. Also in summer, beach volleyball courts are available for rent or pickup games. Canoeing, kayaking, and rowing equipment can be rented from the Lincoln Park Boathouse, just 2.5 miles away. Millennium Park is a 24.5-acre park located right on Michigan avenue between Randolph and Monroe Streets. It is the center for world-class art, music, architecture and landscape design. From ice-skating to al fresco dining, public art, and free music performances, you can experience everything at Millennium Park. The park is also home to the Jay Pritzker Pavilion, the most sophisticated outdoor concert venue of its kind in the United States. The James is also within easy walking distance of many of Chicago's most celebrated attractions and institutions, including the Museum of Contemporary Art, The John Hancock Center, The Historic Water Tower and The Navy Pier.
