“Close, but no Cigar”

Quaint neighborhood. Quaint building. But the hotel itself needs a little polish to compete with the Chicago / Evanston hotel market. For the same money I could have stayed at the Belden-Stratford Hotel in Lincoln Park.

“It was a very good stay!”

I'm a Chicagoan, But now live in Ky. I go home at least once a year to visit, and always book hotes in Chicago, this time I decided to look for something more economical and found the Homestead. Wasn't sure what to expect, it was a nice older hotel with wonderful staff, they were friendly and helpful! The room was clean, and nice. Comparable to hotels in Chicago, including the Drake the Fairfield the Congress and others I've stayed in. Good price, I did enjoy my stay and will probably stay there again! And it's only mins from Chicago which I really liked!

“little gem in Evanston”

Quaint inn in the heart of Evanston, which makes Chicago readily available thru private car or mass transit. Loved the free parking garage. Extremely friendly staff.

“I's take it again”

“a breath of fresh air, honeymoon haven”

The staff was professional helpful and kind. the room clean fresh air all day long view wonderful walking distance to local food stores food great!

“Average hotel”

This hotel is a nice location in Evanston, close to the train and downtown. The rooms are pretty sparse, though. Large, no question - they have a kitchenette and a living room. But it's like a small apartment. The bathroom has a simple sink and old tub. The bed isn't terribly comfortable. The AC unit is a window unit and is pretty loud. There are some basic lamps and desks but it's all very simple. Even the TV isn't in the bedroom, it's in the living room, and not even really facing the couch. It's not a bad hotel, and there's clearly some history there, but it's kind of average.

“springtime”

Great value for the money. No rooms w/2 doulble beds though. great location, safe, lovely and within walking distance of shopping/restaurants, and the purple line.
