“Magnificent hotel”

Great location, great service. We were upgraded to a suite which was fantastic. Huge comfy bed, nice bathroom and very clean. The gym was bigger than I expected with new cardio machines and a weights room. The staff at the front desk were always helpful and gave us some great advice. Having seen the other hotels we were considering staying at, the Allerton appeared to have the best location in the city. I will be going back and I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Chicago.

“Once you find the door, its a sanctuary”

The hotel is geared toward adults, but even still, my 7 year old son felt welcome there on a weekend stay. The room was nice, and well appointed, with a nice balance of an older building and modern luxury. One thing to note, you have to drive around a bit to find it. It is just across the street, and on the same side of Michigan Ave. as the Apple store. Valle parking right next door, and get ready to pay Michigan Ave. prices for that.

“Great location and friendly staff”

My only complaint is that the in-room wi-fi is expensive--I don't like feelig nickled and dimed for hotel amenities. Otherwise the Allerton is perfect. It's near good restaurants, two chocolatiers, the wonderful Looking Glass Theater, and good shopping. The hotel is clean and very attractive; rooms are small but who cares? From the parking valet to the front desk, he staff is always pleasant and friendly. And all this for reasonable rates.

Close to a hospital - so if your a light sleeper the ambulances may bother you somewhat. Howevver, we arrived about 2 hours prior to their check-in time and we were given our room right away. Nice touch - when you first arrive to your hotel when traveling, the first thing you like to be able to do is check-in, relax and freshen up. The customer service was exceptional and we'll definitely stay again next year. Very convenient to shopping, Rush Street and nice restaraunts

“Beautiful Old Hotel”

Very clean. Seemed recently renovated. Comfy bed. Flat Panel TVs. Our small but comfortable corner room had a great view Michigan Ave. and the lake.

“BOOK THIS HOTEL NOW!!!! Dont think twice about it!”

We checked into our hotel EXTREMELY early and our room was already available. As some others have mentioned, the views from the room were not good. As we do not hang out in our room and stare out the window, this did not bother us a bit! We booked a standard room with a king bed, and the room was huge! Others have complained about small rooms, but i can assure you that our room was large enough for a family of 8! Book this hotel immediately, great location right on Michigan ave

“Chicago's Ideal Hotel”

The Allerton is ideally located in the heart of the Magnificent Mile, which made it very convenient to get around Chicago and accessible to public transportation. A very charming old restored hotel. The only somewhat drawback are their confined-space elevators; otherwise a very friendly atmosphere hotel. The hotel staff are all very friendly, courteous and helpful. We would definitely stary with them again on another visit.
