“My new favorite hotel”

This hotel was the perfect place for us to stay as a family. It was conveniently located near public transportations, was safe, and there were numerous places to grab a bite to eat close by. The room was spacious (huge bathroom) and classy, and the staff were gracious. We were steps away from Millennium park, Michigan avenue, the Art Institute, and only a 12 minute bus ride from the Museum campus. We will definitely stay at this hotel again.

“Can't wait to go back”

I glad I wind up with this hotel. Transportation from the airport was breeze. I was very surprised with the size of the room. It was king size bed with another living room for guests and for watching tv. It also has another tv in the bedroom. the bathroom was big and clear. And mostly I like the fact that the hotel has Energy saving and recycling program if the guest would like to participate in it. I did participate in it and I hope everyone would so they can keep the cost down and affordable. Good luck in your staying and I hope you would enjoy it the way I did.

“Perfect Location!”

The hotel was exactly what we were looking for. We were spending the weekend in Chicago for a show and some shopping. This hotel was a few feet from the El and and couple blocks from the metra. We couldn't have asked for a better location. The price wasextremely reasonable and the rooms were clean and comfortable. The hotel was close to stores and restaurants. Having to have a room key to use the elevator was a nice added securtiy. Overall, our stay was great.

“Find a silver lining at the Silversmith”

We were in Chicago over Valentine's day weekend to shop, sightsee, and attend a play. There was construction outside the Hotel's entrance which is not very imposing. However, Bell service took us up to the Lobby, which is actually on the building's second (main floor). The lobby was spacious with oak wood floors and oak mission style chairs. Check in was quick and friendly. We checked in early, but the room was ready and were upgraded to a suite on the 9th floor. The room had a king bed, separate sitting area and TV (sorry, not flat screen) and a large bathroom. Although the walls and floor were lined in tasteful tile (not marble), all the usual amenities were there (unless you hanker for those terry bathrobes that we rarely use). The hotel's location is ideal for shopping as the State Street Macy's is one block away along with Filene's Basement and Nordstrom's Off the Rack. The Chicago Institute of Art is a 10 minute walk from the hotel while the old Lasalle Theater (showing Jersey Boys) was 5 minutes away. The only negative for the hotel is the noise from the elevated train, even when up on the ninth floor. However, we did not pay any attention to it by the second night. We were told that the windows were triple paned to decrease noise.

“Perfect for museums and theatre”

The Silversmith is right between the theatres and the museum district, right on the State Street L. I was afraid it would be too loud, given its proximity to the train, but my room was on the other side, and I didn't even notice the train. The room was newly remodeled, clean, and quiet. Lobby is lovely and spacious. Excellent choice, and I will stay there next time.

“I loved the location”

I was looking for a hotel close to the subway/El trains and one that was an easy walk to the Chicago Institute of Art as well, so this hotel was perfect. I was impressed by the Mission style decor and the cleanliness of the building. Our room had a huge bathroom and nice appointments. The hotel was quiet and peaceful where my room was. I would definitely go back to the Silversmith because of its price and location. The only pain was having to use your room keycard to use the elevators, but it was pretty minor considering the added security this feature provided its guests.

“Very convenient location”

The location of this hotel is great for getting around Chicago. It is located near all of the train lines, with the above ground practically right outside the front door. There are plenty of stores and major attractions easily accessible on foot. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly, and the rooms were spacious compared to other hotels where we have stayed in in the Loop. For the price, you can't beat it! I will definitely be looking for this hotel when I return.
