“Very impressed”
I've stayed in Chicago many times for both pleasure and business and had never heard of The Seneca. My husband attended a conference in Chicago and this trip was booked by his employer. Though I’d not heard of the hotel, I knew the location would be wonderful, perfect for Magnificent Mile shopping, with easy CTA access to other destinations I’d enjoy visiting. We got great service from the staff, the rooms were spacious and clean. We utilized the exercise facility, which was small but adequate. The only negative thing I could say is that the business center does not provide free computer access. There is a minimum charge of $3 and a per minute rate. For those who do not want to travel with a laptop, but want to check-in for a flight, this was an inconvenience.
“Fantastic Girls' Weekend spot!”
It was really great for my friends and I to have a sitting area, kitchenette, and dining area separate from the sleeping area. We loved being so close to Michigan Ave. and it was wonderful for us to have the living area where we could talk and catch-up after almost 15 years apart!
“Why Stay Anywhere Else?”
I've stayed at the Seneca several times and it's always been great. This most recent trip for Labor Day weekend was equally as nice. The first room me wife and I got was in less than ideal condition. The carpet was dirty and the room in general just seemed worn. After asking for a new room, Karen at the front desk was very gracious. Without question she handed us a new room key then called the room 10 minutes later to make sure it was satisfactory. Stellar customer service for this price point, or any price point for that matter. This isn't a four star hotel but when all things are considered: price, wonderful location and above average customer service why waste your money at a more expensive hotel?
“A great experience!! Will definitely stay there again!!!”
I booked my 2 rooms way in advance. But i called to confirm and got one of my rooms upgraded to a king suite. I couldn't believe that I had a living room, dining room, full kitchen and tons of closet space. The view kinda stunk though. We had to look at the backs of some apartment buildings and couldn't see any skyline at all. Which is so beautiful to me. But the whole trip was great. We also got a free breakfast the next morning (not continental). It was very nice and the staff was very very sweet. We will stay there again. We also were very close to the John Hancock building and only a few blocks away from Michigan avenue shopping. I highly recommend this hotel.
“Wonderful Staff”
This hotel was a gem to find. It was so close to the Mile, everywhere was walking distance and the staff were great. These guys really worked hard to make your stay enjoyable. I had a problem with my cable, and the night staff responded right away to fix it. When they couldn't, they made sure that that it was fixed the next day. I would definitely stay here again!
“chicago best!!!!”
Everyone was GREAT !!! definetly a five star hotel
“Great Bargain on the Mag Mile”
This my second time staying at the Seneca, and certainly not my last . The suites are huge beds are comfortable. The televisons are not flat screen, but there is free HBO. The only negative is the bathrooms are on the small side, but it great place to stay for long weekend or an extended business trip.
“Incredible stay”
For less than I paid for basically a closet in Vancouver, I got an entire suite - living room, dining area, and full kitchen - all about a block from Miracle Mile! There were some renovations going on further down the hall, but all this meant was that for two days out of the four I had to step around a drop cloth and smell paint fumes when I left the room. The only minor quibble I had was the bed was a tad too soft for my liking (I prefer 'em rock hard).
“wonderful location”
I spent an enjoyable night there with my 3 sisters as part of our annual "sister's weekend". The location was perfect and we loved the fact that it was only one block from Michigan Avenue and kitty-corner from Water Tower Place. The staff was extremely friendly and when we asked for extra towels they were at our door in a matter of minutes. The only down-side to our stay was the temperature of the room. The weather was ghastly that night and the heat in the room was unbearable. We tried turning it off and the room never seemed to cool down even with the below zero wind chills outside. In spite of that, I would still consider staying there again because of the service and location.
“Great place to stay”
We had a great stay. Close to many attractions and awesome restaurants. George at the Supper Club downstairs was great.
