“Great hotel at a great location”
Excellent stay
“Excellent value for money”
I stayed at The Seneca Suites with a friend for 3 nights to do some christmas shopping. The staff were very friendly and helpful at check-in. The rooms have had a make-over since our last visit which was a welcome surprise. (It had started to look a bit tired and dated) Our only complaint was that we had requested bedding be provided for the pullout sofabed. This request was in our reservation, plus, we emailed the hotel a few days before our arrival, to remind them of this. It was not in the room. As we set out, to start our shopping, we requested it be brought to the room whilst out. On our return, it still had not been provided. I felt as though I was being a 'pesty guest', when I needed to call down for it yet again. It was brought, however, immediately after the phone call down to reception. The room was extremely clean, spacious and quiet! My friend and I both commented how quiet the hotel was during our stay. We even used the gym, which is very adequately equipped. The breakfast restaurant is not fancy but the food was freshly cooked to order and delicious! I will happily stay here again and have already recommended it to family and friends! It was a fantastic price for the location and size of accomodation.
“Will be back for sure!”
This is the second year my friend and I stayed at the Seneca Hotel and after a wonderful experience last year, we didn't think it could get any better. The staff (many of whom we recognized from last year) were all friendly, helpful and courteous. The room we had was immaculate and the bathroom newly remodeled and perfect for 2 women doing hair and makeup at the same time! The location was perfect for us - right behind the Water Tower Shopping Mall and only 1 block from Michigan Avenue, where you can easily take a bus down to the other end of town. All in all, I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wanted a comfortable and convenient location to many great stores, restaurants and attractions.
“Front Desk and Management Very Rude”
We had a couple complications with our booking and the hotel hung up on me twice. The problem was easily fixed, and it could have been fixed in a much more timely matter if they would have listened. Not satisfied at all.
“Old Hotel”
This hotel is old. The rooms haven't been updated for several years. It is clean. The staff was friendly. The lobby is very nice. I would recommend only because of the location.
“chicago hotel”
was very good for the price
“Ok - will go back if nothing cheaper is available”
Was little expensive. Front desk little rude, but couple were nice. Was told breakfast was part of my reservation but when I went there was told it wasn't. But another front desk lady gave me a complimentary coupon for some reason! So, it was Ok. Location wise is great. Not the best hotel I have stayed in for more than 125 a night. Will stay again if the Hilton or Renaissance don't give comparable rates.
“Value for Money”
we booked a De-luxe 2 Doubles with breakfast. The room was small Shabby with no seating area and a open hatch Kitchenett, from one of the beds you looked straight at the fridge/freezer. We explained our disappointment to reception and were moved the next day to a suite 2 doubles with a generous seating area, closed off kitchenett, ample wardrobes and of a large size room to relax whilst in Chicago for our weeks stay. Breakfast was acceptable but not usually hot enough, one occasion I sent cold eggs back for replacement, this was no problem. Overall the staff were helpful. Our room was kept very clean by our maid. The only down side I feel could be improved are the condition of the bed pillow which were small flat and lumpy foam. Reception said this was the only pillow type they provided. Also the lighting could benefit from other than twilight despite all lights switched on. The hotel looks old world charm inside at reception seating area as does the suite and room we stayed in but is kept at all times clean and tidy in appearance,

“Great Location”
Despite being a Chicago suburbanite, with a dinner in the city we decided to make a weekend of it. The Seneca was a perfect location for our dinner at the 95th. Despite the initial room offered which had only one bed the front desk was more than willing to change our room. The almost full size refrigerator allowed us to maintain our leftovers as well as drinks and the free breakfast was a pleasant surprise. The only thing we had issue with was the temp in the room. It happened to be a unseasonably warm weekend and we couldn't cool the room down. Luckily we were able to open the windows which helped. We would definately consider returning for our next city weekend
