“Great location for the price”

The location (less than a block from Mich. Ave) is second-to-none, particularly given the room rates. This is a simple hotel that lacks the bells and whistles, but for a convenient roof over your head during your stay in Chicago, it's definitely worth a look.

“good for what it is”

This is a "10" location (within a block of Michigan Ave), and an adequate , plain and simple hotel. Low on charm, but quiet and clean. Good value for the money.

“Red Roof Inn, downtown Chicago, a reasonable hotel”

The Red Roof Inn in Chicago downtown is a good base for staying in Chicago, near to the magnificent mile and not too far from the "the loop". I arrived by Amtrak at Chicago Union station and with heavy bags decided to take a taxi to the hotel which cost $8. As for the hotel itself, pretty much a typical room from my experience of American hotels, 2 double beds, bathroom, TV, aircon, desk - American hotels rooms all seem the same to me. The place was clean and tidy, the interior could benefit from a bit of a spuce up though (the exterior has been done recently). The booking in and out process was quick and efficient, also the reception was quiet at the times I was there. All in all I thught it was a good hotel for the location at the price I paid.

“served its purpose”

there were 5 men who were in town for a cubs game and to celebrate one of theirs 35th birthday so we just wanted a place to sleep that was a good value and in the downtown area. the Red Roof Inn met these objectives.

“Great Deal for the money”

This is a simple, clean hotel right in the heart of the River North neighborhood of Chicago, within walking distance of Water Tower place and several major museums, lots of shopping and dining out. It's not luxurious, but it was basic, comfortable, clean, and cheap. What more can you ask for?

“good value for the location”

you can spend a lot more money for a nicer hotel -- it's better than I expected for that price in that location

“Only half block from michigan ave”

Location was perfect. Within walking distance of all the downtown sights. Room was very small but OK. Also room was humid -air did not keep up. Compared to other prices in area a good deal.

“Good value for money”

The hotel is very convenient to explore the centre of the city. My room was big and clear. The reception staff was friendly and helpful. For my next visit to Chicago will be definitely a valuable option

“Great Location”

Right in Downtown Chicago, near other hotels that cost $500/night. Not 5-star, but worth the money.
