“Great Hotel for Naval Graduation Families”

This was a nice hotel to stay in. Had everything we needed for the one night stay.

“Huge hotel! Ok for the price”

This hotel was huge! It was like finding your way through a maze from the lobby to your room. The rooms were nice,and pretty clean even though I found candy under the desk, which must have been left there from the former occupants. The beds were comfy and they had down pillows. The towels were pretty scratchy. I was staying there for a Navy boot camp graduation and the base was very close and they had a shuttle that would take you to the base. It is also very close to a train station which you can take into Chicago. The neighborhood behind the hotal was a little sketchy but I did not have any problems and you had to swipe your room key to get into any back or side doors.

“not glamourous but inexpensive”

was comfy and clean, didn't use pool or wake up for breakfast. likes duvet, nearness to I94, close to Genesee Theatre. dislikes, kind of out of the way for any food but MacDonalds, older hotel for area. Nothing spectacular or out of the way as far as i can see but a good basic hotel. helpful info sheet in room with turn by turn instructions to get to things like 6 flags, mall, restaurants, etc. Heineken was cold and frosty in bar which looked like someone's hunting lodge.

“better than others in town”

I highly recommend this hotel, it was so much nicer than another hotel in the same town, just blocks away. I ate breakfast in the restaurant, the food came very fast and was good. The room was clean and well kept. The only complaint i had was the tv remote was missing and the iron stopped working. However, the front desk sent a maintenance guy within minutes of my call to try to fix the iron. He ended up replacing the iron with a working one. If you must stay in this town, stay at this hotel. I tried it thanks to reviews i read on expedia from other members after my last experience in this town and I am so glad i did. When i go back, I will absolutely stay at this hotel again!!

“A very special time. See above”

The staff, front desk, cleaning, and restaurant were most friendly and helpful. The way they treat the Navy families is exemplary. If I was treated this way at all the hotels and motels I have visited I probably would not have bought a motor home to travel in.

“Good location”

Room was clean and pleasant. It was quiet and very convenient to Great Lakes Naval Base. Lots to choose from with the free breakfast. The only negative is the connected restaurant is pricey and the service was poor.

“Would stay again”

Upon arrival I was very confused as to which buildings were part of the hotel. The main lobby and reception area are very nice and is in a newer building. However the rest of the hotel, is rather out of date in terms of the way it looks on the outside. Quite misleading, so I was a little disappointed. Room was very clean on the other hand, nothing fancy but served its purpose. Walls are a little thin, we could hear a kid crying next door and people walking in the room above us. They had portable cribs which was wonderful and check-out through the tv. The room service was WONDERFUL! A little pricey but the quality of food is definitely worth it. Even with its misleading looks and with its location right in front of the "projects" of Waukegan it is still one of the better hotels in the area. Great place to stay for the Navy bootcamp graduation. We were only 5-10 minutes away from the base for easy pick-up and drop off for liberty weekend. Hotel also had directions printed out and ready the morning of graduation. Would stay again just maybe on the 2nd floor, safer and quiter.

“Not bad”

We stayed for our son's graduation from Navy b/c for 5 days. was not bad as location and service was good. On Monday when we were getting things packed to leave someone knocked at the door and asked when we were leaving. Ten minutes later someone called asking the same thing. this was at 8:30 in the AM. Check out wasn't till noon. We had planned on leaving around 10:00 but left just to avoid any trouble .This was the only problem we had.

“Perfect location for Kids and Adults Ramada Inn Waukegan”

The rates were very resonable for the location of this hotel, the rooms were clean, nice pool, adequite work-out facilities, the phone did not work in our room, and the staff was a little slow to respond to our needs at times but overall a nice hotel with good staff.
