Great area in Chicago. near Michigan Ave

Posted 02-May-2015
What a fabulous hotel. Great rooftop bar bed was super comfortable. Nice little area near lobby to get coffee and pastries. Just a 10 min walk to "L" only neg was no hair dryer in room. So glad I had brought a hat with me.

Amazing boutique hotel, inexpensive at times.

Posted 29-Apr-2015
Pros: Everything. It was amazing. The bedding quality. The fact that it had a fridge and a microwave. The bathroom. The toiletries. Everything.
Cons: Frankly, nothing.
Location: It's so close to Michigan Avenue and Lake Shore Drive that you can walk pretty much everywhere or take the Red Line.
The Raffaello Hotel was an extremely pleasant surprise. To be perfectly fair, after my previous two hotel stays in Chicago, I was a bit afraid and ready for disappointment. What did I find? I found an amazing hotel where everything was just simply perfect. There was a microwave in my suite, and plenty of coffee. The desk was amazing, the lighting, the bedding. Everything. I would stay here again. The only problem I foresee is that they will most likely jack up the price in the summer. I got this through Expedia and I got a deal of less than what they normally charge per night, which is outstanding for a boutique hotel of high quality. I suspect they'll charge way more.

Perfect location for all downtown activities.

Posted 20-Apr-2015
Pros: The room and bathroom was amazing!
Cons: The coffee shop in the lobby. It would be better if it sold breakfast items and the coffee was terrible.
Location: Great location. Close to everything we wanted to do.
We we're upgraded to a Deluxe Suite as it was our honeymoon, they had put rose petals down as well as included a bottle of fizz. This was such a nice touch. The front desk and cleaning staff were really friendly. Unfortunately the guys at the front door didn't have the same friendly tone to them. The roof top bar was quite expensive but on a clear night worth going up for a drink. The only thing that we didn't enjoy was the coffee from the doughnut shop in the lobby. I think the hotel needs to change this to a Starbucks or something more breakfast like. Other than that the hotel was perfect for our romantic stay and I would recommend it to other people.

Friendly staff and great rooms

Posted 17-Apr-2015
Pros: Spacious comfortable rooms. The rooms were clean and had a Lrage TV to watch the games on.
Cons: Larger lifts and a pool.
Location: Close to Lake Michigan and the John Hancock centre. Easy walk to water tower Mall.
This is the first time in Chicago and found the hotel to be close enough to all that we needed. An easy walk to the Lake as well. Staff were friendly and the check in / out experience was good. The only real problem is that the lifts were so small we had to form a queu to get in the lift to get to our rooms. BUT the rooms were spacious and comfortable. There was complimentary coffee and tea, but they only ever left enough for 2 coffees so if my wife and I had a coffee before bed we did not have any when we woke up. Cleanliness was excellent. Never used the Bar or any other facilities except the breakfast donuts which were excellent.

Location, location, location.

Posted 13-Apr-2015
Pros: Customer service (from doorman to office clerk).
Location: The location is spectacular; walking distance to Michigan Ave., restaurants, and lake.
This is my second trip to Chicago and I stayed at the same hotel.; the doorman and the office clerk were different people than the first time but the warm welcoming was the same. The room and the bathroom were in very good conditions as well as the bed clothing. Location is spectacular; 3 blocks away from Michigan Ave. and walking distance to excellent restaurants and the lake.

Nice but very small bathrooms

Posted 13-Apr-2015
Pros: Good location, seemed like it was trying to be high end. Comfortable lobby.
Cons: staff wasn't always as helpful as they could be.
The bathroom, while nice, was so small you could barely turn around inside and there is not very much counter space for a woman to stow makeup and other toiletries. Can't really put your makeup on in the bathroom because there is no counter space on which to work. The safe in the room was broken and couldn't be replaced or fixed in time for me to make my morning meetings. While they boast a roof top bar, and it is nice, the club music is so loud that you can't even have a conversation. They need more food options. The restaurant attached to the hotel is supposed to be excellent but is very expensive. The Starbucks in the lobby only has coffee and donuts -- really -- donuts. How about some fresh fruit or something healthy.

The staff makes you feel right at home. No matter how many questions we asked, they were polite and patient. We didn't come for a long time, but they made sure we had a good time!
