Spitzenlage in Chicago

Posted 03-Jul-2015
Absolut empfehlenswert, sehr schöne, moderne Zimmer. Lediglich der Frühstücks-Roomservice ist absolut überteuert, allerdings finden sich in der Nähe des Hotels jede Menge anderer Möglichkeiten.

Lovely Room/Location, Mildly Disappointing Dining

Posted 01-Jul-2015
The hotel's location is convenient for most of the activities one associates with visiting Chicago for pleasure. My room was comfortable, spacious, and appealingly decorated; as an avid fan of the Chicago skyline, I found the view from my second-story window very pleasant. I was, however, mildly disappointed with the quality of the in-room dining. The penne was noticeably undercooked and seemed not to have been drained adequately, which resulted in the sauce becoming slightly watered down. Perhaps it was an uncommonly hectic evening in the kitchen? Happily, the piatto di formaggio with fig preserves I ordered for dessert was much more satisfactory. On the whole, I would certainly stay at this hotel again -- but I would walk next door to Pelago (where I enjoyed a delightful meal during a Chicago visit two years ago) for supper rather than taking my chances with in-room dining.

Great location and amazing staff!

Posted 01-Jul-2015
From the minute we arrived to the minute we left we were in great hands! The staff was extremely helpful! The front desk provided us with quick check in and even gave many recommendations of where to eat and places to see. If we needed more towels or needed anything for that matter, we would text message the front desk. Also, this hotel is in a great location! It's located near all the shopping and public transit is at the corner of the street! Loved the experience of staying at a smaller hotel, as I usually stay at larger chains such as the Hilton, Hytt, Weston, etc. I also forgot to mention, the bathroom was huge! There were 4 girls in the room, so for us getting ready for nights on the town or early morning sight seeing, it was a bonus! Very clean too! I would highly recommend to other travellers!

Fine hotel, great location

Posted 28-Jun-2015
Very quiet, despite 18th floor rooftop bar/deck. Slow, small elevators, but come on, who really cares about that. Efficient and friendly staff. Fantastic bed and shower. Views of Hancock Building and Water Tower. Six block walk to subway, red line.

Great location and service!

Posted 27-Jun-2015
I was concerned after booking and reading some reviews, but the location is fantastic, self-park easy & just at the end of the block, all of the staff we encountered was friendly and accommodating! The king room we had was large and clean, the bathroom is on the small side, but there is a large vanity w/mirror just outside. We had a nice kitchenette as well. Great for the price we paid and everything I would expect from a remodeled boutique hotel, loads of charm & character. If you are expecting the Ritz, you should pay for and stay at the Ritz, this is a completely different style of hotel, but very nice!

Great location by the Magnificent Mile in Chicago.

Posted 26-Jun-2015
Pros: Old structure, yet very modern inside.
Cons: We were very pleased with the cost for value.
Location: Shopping along the Magnificent Mile (Michigan Ave) Chicago. The 146 bus was one block away for visiting the major museums.
Found the staff - the doorman, front desk, and maids all friendly and helpful. Access to our car was also very convenient.

Great hotel in Chicago

Posted 26-Jun-2015
Location: Located right at Michigan Ave near shops and right next to Hancock bldg.
I usually stay in another hotel in this area, but it was booked so I tried the Raffaello. Loved it! This will be my new "go to" choice for Chicago. Room was big! Nicely priced. Beds super comfortable. Loved the neighborhood. Located right behind the Hancock bldg. so it was easy to find my way back even when my phone (gps) was dead. They have a nice bar on the rooftop that was very relaxing. Donuts in the donut shop in the lobby were delicious and very cheap breakfast. You must try one. Wonderful stay!

Great location but tight quarters in our room.

Posted 25-Jun-2015
Hotel was in a prime location and within walking distance to shopping, restaurants, the pier, and Michigan lake. Dissatisfied with the tight quarters of our room. Dresser drawers were broken. Shower leaked water on the floor during each use. Would not stay here again and would not recommend staying here.

Customer service is excellent

Posted 24-Jun-2015
Cons: Bathroom shower could use a door, water gets everywhere
The hotel is in a great location, well maintained. The staff are all pleasant, I had an issue upon checking out where the general manager had to take my word with no evidence to back me up. She happily solved our problem, resulting in the best customer service I have received in a long time. I will be staying here again next time I'm in Chicago.
