Great Location!

Pros: The location and the ambience. Great lounge Bar!
Location: The Millenium Knickerbocker is located accross the street from the Drake Hotel and on the "Magnificent MIle". Access to great dining, shopping, etc.
Loved the hotel...very posh and nice reminescent of an earlier era.

Travel Aug 2014

Pros: clean. the greeter was very personable at the beginning and end of day. always happy and obvious that he enjoyed his job. Great advice on Restaurant.
Cons: air conditioner was a problem. Too warm the first night but fixed promptly the next day..
Location: double deker bus. Great recommendation. museum of history. water tower, top of hancock building, magnificient mile. Couldn't fit everything in.
Enjoyed our visit. Front desk very friendly. We got caught in the thunder storm while walking. We were soaked.. The front desk was willing to give us a room right away. This was a blessing.

O.K. hotel in downtown Chicago.

Posted 12-Sep-2014
Pros: We were able to get a very good price for it from Expedia during IMTS week.
Cons: Carpets, furniture hot water repairs.
Location: Very good location just around the corner from the Hancock building and other attractions.
The Kinckerbocker is an older hotel in the downtown Chicago area, it was clean but the carpets and the furniture was a little worn. We had a lot of problems with the hot water, we had problems with the internet connection that we were paying $10 per day for and there is no view other than a dirty building next door. I would recommend it to a friend if they could get the good Expedia deal I got.

Awesome visit

Posted 03-Sep-2014
We loved the comfy beds and rain shower. The location was perfect for touring the gold coast, Michigan Avenue, Rush Street and near North shops and restaurants . We were a quick cab ride to downtown. The staff were friendly and helpful. We would definitely return!

Solid 3 stars

Posted 02-Sep-2014
Pros: Location
Cons: Get rid of the pseudo-computer monitor on the desk.
Location: Shopping and the Hancock Building just around the corner.
The Knickerbocker is in an older, but well kept building on the north end of the Magnificent Mile. Our room (a superior king) was small, but adequate and nicely decorated. The one side-chair in the room was oddly placed between the window and the bed, which made navigating that space a little awkward. Its placement was difficult because of the limited size of the room. More frustring was the large computer-type monitor and keypad that was set up on the desk. It took up a lot of space, making it difficult to use that area for our own computer and odds and ends. I'm not sure what its purpose was, and we didn't feel the need to explore. It played music constantly until we figured out how to silence it. However, every morning at 8 a.m., it turned itself on, lighting up the entire room. Irritating. The room was generally clean, although we did find a small blue pill (for allergies, it turned out after Googling) next to the bed, and a dirty sock tucked away on the shelf in the closet. The bathroom and linens were all clean, though, as were the surfaces. The staff were pleasant and accomodating.

The Perfect Place

Posted 02-Sep-2014
Pros: I enjoyed everything about the hotel.
Cons: The restroom needs more lighting and it would have been nice to have a tub/shower combination.
Location: The John Hancock Building is around the corner, as well as shopping at Water Tower Place. Rush Street is a short walk and offers great food choices.
My hotel stay was wonderful. The room was clean, comfortable, and very modern in style. Each day I was greeted with a warm smile and helpful assistance for all my needs. The hotel is located on the Mile which makes it easier for travelers to walk to shopping and dining. I felt safe and would recommend the Millennium to single travelers and families.
