“Great staff”
Heart O Chicago is VERY basic--no cable TV, no hair dryer or iron, no refrig or microwave, not even shampoo. But it was very clean and had great pillows and the staff & owners are really so accommodating and wonderful and helpful. It's a walk to get anywhere, although bus stops are very close, and Andersonville has great little restaurants everywhere.
“Unsafe electrical”
Told by guy at desk not to use hairdryer because electrical is to old in hotel. Said fuses blow all the time. Someone must have used something electric, because we had a 20 minute black out just after I checked in. Is this even safe???
“1 night stay...Maybe”
I stayed here based on the location, I was going to a concert at the Aragon Ballroom and it was very close to the venue. If you are only staying one night it's not that bad and the price is right. But the Motel is very old and it shows in the room, the neighborhood would not want to walk around either.
“Would definately return if in Chicago again”
It was an affordable option for those traveling on a budget. Just what we needed and was not inconvienient to seeing sites downtown.
“older but clean will stay again”
ok
“basic/very average”
if your looking for a place to shower and sleep it'll do. bed and bathroom were adequate. had tv but i didn't watch much. unlike reviews i saw before booking, i WAS able to connect to internet with free wifi. not totally insulated from outside noises(ambulances, traffic etc). breakfast was limited to cereals, drinks, pastries... close enough to wrigley i guess. overall about what you'd expect for the price. not for the picky but alright for what it was.
“Great for a cheap motel”
It is pretty much what you would expect from an inexpensive motel, nothing fancy but it was clean and pretty comfortable. I would definitely stay here again, and it was an easy bus ride to the beach and other city attractions. The check in guy was rude to my friend though, because I put both rooms in my name and they wouldn't let anyone check in without me. I was arriving 5 hours later, and the check-in guy wouldn't even just call me to verify that they were my friends.
“I will come back if they change some thing”
the hotel look clearn but smell old ordor, I rent 2 rooms but one roon is no a/c but that fine for me( because the temp at chicago cool for me) they need change the blanket, the blanket old, have some smoke burn and some spot hard like never wash the blanket ( please do use brown color, brown color make me fell unclearn)
“so so”
not very friendly staff and no internet service my whole 3 night stay
“Sure it's a dive but it's cheap!”
Pluses: price, only 4 miles from Wrigley, continental breakfast. Minuses: no coffee in room, marginal heat/cooling, location, no pool, no whirlpools. Really just a sort of run down fleabag motel with barest of minimal accommodations. Worked for a single night stay and trip or two to Wrigley, otherwise, stop being so damned cheap and get a real hotel room.
