We went to Chicago for a long weekend away. Picked the hotel pretty much at random and were very happy. The staff were friendly and helpful and the room was very nice, with very pleasant décor and a very comfortable bed. It is right near the top end of the magnificent mile so was convenient to everything we wanted to see.
The restaurant staff we had for breakfast were particularly friendly.
We will consider staying there the next time we go.
I only had one night at the Red Roof Inn but it was just what the doctor ordered. The location is perfect, the staff are friendly and helpful, the room was spacious and comfortable. I will definitely return!±
We drove to Chicago and parked my car at public parking lot which is very close to Essex.
Hotel parking fee is expensive but public parking fee is cheap.
We stayed a suite with nice view of Grant park. We could walk to millennium park, Shedd Aquarium, nevy pier, megnificiant mile and John Hancock tower.
The Park Hyatt provided very professional, high quality service. When the room we booked was not available on the first night they more than compensated for the inconvenience of having to move the next morning. The rooms were clean and beds comfortable. Housekeeping was superb. View of the lake from our room and the restaurant was spectacular. The outside rooftop patio was a real treat as we had some beautiful weather to enjoy during our trip. Also the meals we had at the hotel were terrific. Concierge and restaurant management were the best we have encountered.
The Hyatt Lisle is located conveniently right off the highway and is close to our destination, the Universal Technical Institute campus. The promotional price through Expedia led me to believe it would be a less-than-stellar hotel, but it was, surprisingly, quite nice. Not posh, by any means, but definitely NICE and well worth the less-than-$100 price. Suite-style room (living/work area separate from bedroom) with two double beds, sofa, desk, flat-screen TV, free wi-fi, and coffee maker (very important!). The rooms and bathroom were clean and the beds were comfortable, but a bit too soft for my back (not the hotel's fault). Decor was minimal, but at least was not gaudy. Didn't check out the pool or exercise room, so I can't speak to those amenities. Breakfast was available for purchase, but we didn't try it, and we did not eat in the restaurant on the premises, either. Overall, an enjoyable stay!
