Excellent hotel - Embassy Suites Chicago Lakefront

Posted 27-Jan-2015
Pros: most every thing, except for the double beds, should have been queen ... don't see doubles in many hotels anymore
Cons: have extra blankets and pillows in room so room service does not have to be called
Location: Chicago lakefront is very nice, millinenim park, ice skating, the bean, very inviting.
Excellent hotel, all that you expect is here. Only issue was the beds, got 2 double beds when wanted 2 queens. Believe it's all they had, so we made due. Love the separate living area with sofa sleeper, chair automan, table and chairs - made for great entertaining space (separate from sleeping area). Furniture is a bit out dated, but this hotel is in the process of refirbishing the rooms. Top 3 floors were sealed off with plastic as they already started these floors! The snacks at the evening reception could have been better, drinks were great!

Awesome!

Posted 26-Jan-2015
Pros: Location, and breakfast.
Cons: Comfort of the pull-out sofa bed.
Location: With-in (far) walking distance to the Navy Pier.
The suite was roomy. It is in a great location to walk to several attractions. They offered free drinks for 2 hours in the evening, and free breakfast. Both were excellent, and offered almost anything you could want.

No water

Posted 21-Jan-2015
Pros: Nicely appointed rooms with comfortable mattresses. Great breakfast.
When we checked in at 4:00 pm, we were handed a letter that indicated the water was off in the hotel between 10:00 am and 5:00 pm. Also, loud yelling in the room next door for quite awhile around midnight.

We really liked the location, the friendly staff, and the room was very comfortable. The complimentary breakfast was good - much more variety than I expected.

Over All Pleased with Location and Facilities

Posted 21-Jan-2015
Pros: Location and Decor
Cons: Room decor and cleanliness (mainly bathroom).
Location: Lakefront in Summer of course. Shedd Aquarium, Field Museum, Museum of Science and Industry and Millennium park. McCormick Place, Water Tower Place.
The hotel was nice and clean. The staff varied. Front desk staff was kind of flat not welcoming. The bar attendants were very nice (just got a soda). The evening snacks were nice. Pool was very clean. Room was clean. Parking in the self parking was very easy to locate and entrance was not far away although signage not very clearly indicating direction (we found it driving around before parking). Location is amazing to many attractions and the view to the water was awesome! The beds were very comfortable. The bathroom was clean overall but the grout in the shower could have used a good scrubbing. However I did tell the housekeeper and I would stay here again.

nice and clean

Posted 20-Jan-2015
it's a nice hotel, good breakfast. the pool is very small and was ridiculously full on a weekend. the rooms were fine, nothing special, but clean. the hotel is under construction so there was noise at night that kept me up. we had two small kids and if I would do it again i would stay closer to michigan avenue to avoid all the walking.

Great hotel!!!!

Posted 20-Jan-2015
Pros: ALL
Cons: The construction they were doing on the upper floors was a little annoying our last morning because it woke us all up.
Location: Great location to all of the city.
I went with a group of 6 girls for a fun birthday weekend! We got a 2 rooms suite with a great view of the city and plenty of space for all of us. We loved the view, the set up of the room and especially with 3 total sinks and plenty of mirrors for us to get ready. The fridge and microwave was a great addition too. We also loved the free huge breakfast with a lot of variety for all and also the great reception with free drinks and snacks for 2 hours each night. It was my friends 60th birthday and the bell hop upon bringing up our luggage was so sweet he gave her a free movie coupon to use at the hotel which we did. We also met one of the managers I believe her name was Jaime who ended up surprising her with a bottle of wine and fresh cheese and cracker plate which we found in our room that night. So nice of her.

Good value, good location

Posted 20-Jan-2015
Pros: Rate and location
Cons: see above
Generally good except (1) breakfast buffet chaotic, several food stations out of food or beverages, hair in cereal (2) ATM and parking pay stains out of order.
