“Will Be back 2012”

I enjoyed the stay at the Congress Hotel. We were very satisfied with the location of the hotel to the Taste of Chicago event. THe hotel was beautiful outside and inside. The only disappointment was that the carpet was very wet near the air conditioner in the room. I regret the employees were on Strike for better wages. I do not like to cross picket lines. I will definitely stay at the Congress Hotel next year.

“Good hotel for price with excellent location.”

Hotel was very clean, room good sized, lots of hot water. Have stayed here three times on trips to city and never had a problem with check in or the rooms. Sorry to see that the cafe was not opened this trip for breakfast during the week, but did find the Artist Cafe up the street reasonable and food good.

“Great Chicago experience”

We came into town from Ottawa and lucked into finding the Congress Plaza. The location can't be beat (immediately across the street from all the water front parks, 1.5 miles or so from Navy Pier - a great walk on a sunny day). Great access to food, close to United Center and Soldier Field (less than 3 miles to either one). We saw the Blackhawks game and found it very convenient getting to and from the game. There are a few strikers picketing outside (I understand that to be a recent fixture at the hotel), but they seemed to keep to themself for the most part. Definitely an older hotel, but a great experience. I would definitely stay there again.

“Looking forward to visiting again!”

We really enjoyed our stay. The hotel has a classic feel about. Most hotels these days are built so poorly you can hear other rooms, kids running in the hallways. Not here, we slept like babies without a peep. Staff was friendly and very helpful in telling us the best way to get around to the museums we wanted to go to. We enjoyed our stay.

“Nice hotel, nice location”

Very nice hotel with comfortable beds, high ceilings, wired Internet in the room (wifi only in the lobby at $7.50/day), helpful staff. Very good location (able to walk to Navy Pier, planetarium, aquarium, Art Institute, Museum of Natural History).

“grand old hotel, great location”

We really enjoyed staying at the Congress due to it's wonderful location on Michigan Ave. Rooms were huge, older decor but very clean. Only complaint was that we could not turn down the air-conditioning, finally turned it off. Loved being able to park on site at a reasonable rate. We will stay there again.

“Congress Plaza”

Congress Plaza is an old, historic hotel in downtown Chicago. It is in great shape and is in a fantastic location overlooking the lake - our lakefront room on the 12th floor had incredible views. Other than an older bathroom, we were extremely pleased with our stay.
