Hotel staff was friendly and tended to all requests . The hotel was centrally located for all our sightseeing needs. We had a great time. Make sure you go downstairs and enjoy the free coffee and quiet.

Affordable downtown hotel

Posted 20-Aug-2014
Pros: Not pretentious. Good location for the price. Great service and no hassles.
Cons: The attached Elephant and Castle bar/restaurant was only open for food service until 11PM, so I had to go down the street to a competitor
Location: Easy walk to the river and Navy Pier, so not too far from lots of shopping and eating.
Every staff member was super helpful and friendly. Late check-out time was nice, as was being able to leave car and bags until late the same day as check-out.

Better options elsewhere

Posted 17-Aug-2014
If you don't care about a small room size, this hotel isn't a bad stay. I paid for a room with a kitchenette hoping to get a large room, but no luck. The room had space for a bed and a desk, and a pitiful "kitchen" that spanned a few feet right at the doorway. Also, the staff doesn't wash the comforter between tenants. Mine had an odor. I would only stay again if I didn't have other options.

Excellent except a little noisy

Posted 15-Aug-2014
I enjoyed my stay overall. Needless to say, the hotel is in a wonderful area, with easy access to Chicago River, Grant Park, Millennium Park, Art Institute of Chicago, and lots of great shopping areas--all within walking distance if you like the pedestrian way of life. There are also convenient public transportation or taxi accesses. The room is very clean and the staff keeps it that way pretty well. However, you can sometimes hear the other guests, the loud ones of course, and we can hear people push on our doors or even try to open it every night. I would say the stay was worth the money.

Nice, clean room but tiny

Posted 12-Aug-2014
"Boutique" hotel apparently means tiny rooms. I feel the nightly rate I paid was far too much for a room scarcely larger than a child's bedroom, with a close up view of an adjacent building. Disappointing in that regard, however the staff was professional & courteous and the proximity to downtown shops & restaurants was convenient.

great time in chicago

Posted 12-Aug-2014
we checked in no problem - the parking is a bit pricey however there is a bar right next to the hotel so that was nice the free water bottles by the elevators was great and it was located in the middle of everything. the rooms are a bit small however the beds are comfy

Downtown chi hotel

Posted 12-Aug-2014
Do not expect a 3 1/2* quality. Rooms are very small. Bed old and creaky. We booked for an anniversary get away and talked about going home after the first sleepless night. Decided to stay and enjoy Chicago, but wished we had a comfortable space to retreat to after the business of the city.
