“COOL and Minimalist's Choice”

If u r on a business trip, on ur own budget, and want decent but effective relax, this is the place. It is a minimalist's choice: bed, bathroom, coffee maker, air conditioner, internet, (i even think the tv is not necessary), clean and decent.

“It Doesn't Get Much Worse”

I was looking for place to lay my head for night that was within easy walking distance of S State Street. This place fit the bill -- but, it was by far one of the worst places I have ever stayed. The room and walls where dirty and I'm not sure if the sheets were even changed from the previous guest. The bathroom, though, looked like it had been updated within the past couple of years and was tolerable. Overall, from previous reviews I knew what to expect and it didn't disappoint in that regard.

“Worse than you can Imagine”

I have photos that we took b/c we were in shock. Our door to the "suite" room had been beaten in and doorknob was falling off, anyone could have walked in even with it dead bolted. Upon checking the bed , there was what looked like blood stains all over the mattress. A painting had holes thru it, as if bullet holes. We thought we were being punked! I know it was a cheap place but I was afraid to sit anywhere. we ran out and told the man at the front desk we couldn't stay there, he suddenly didn't speak great english, although he did 20 minutes earlier. I've stayed in some hole in the wall places but this was crazy. We left and went to a holiday Inn. No refund! A total nightmare, find somewhere else!

“Tired Hotel in need of repainting, obvious signs of wear everywhere.”

This Hotel is tired and rundown. The walls of our room were badly marked probably from careless past guests moving in and out with their cases etc. Paint was flaking in the bathroom, there wasn't a clock or bedside lamps, the TV although obviously working, couldn't be made to show any programs, the bedspread was of doubtful cleanliness, the door hardware was loose, the floor was tiled and would be cold in winter. On the positive side the staff were polite and friendly, wifi was free, a computer was available for the use of guests, in a common room there was tea and coffee and a hot water urn, a full size refrigerator was available for the use of guests, public transport is excellent and nearby.

I didn't have expectations so wasn't disapointed, but probably won't go back. There is no elevator, steps are narrow, 1 person each way, each floor has a landing, and turn I was on the 3rd floor. Pop machine didn't have anything but bottled water. No ice machine. They have dish tv the only channel in english was cnn, the other 3 were all in chineese. furniture is from the 30s not very comfortable. Several chinesse resturants with in a block or 2, nothing for breakfast. There were some bakeries, but nothing to sit down and order a hot breakfast. There was a Walgreens about 3 or 4 blocks away if you really wanted to get something. They were acommodating in like giving directions, and calling cabs, etc. it wasn't a bad stay I'm too spoiled with modern conviencies.

“Not really thrilled”

I give this hotel one star do to the previous comments. The room was not the cleanest and there was no elevator and narrow stairways to climb. If you want just a place to sleep its OK but my family would expect a newer, cleaner acommodations, next time. If you are young and just want a pace to crash with no amenities, then this place is OK. As I mentioned before the clerks were very nice and helpful.
