I loved everything about our room. We had the Chicago suite and were completely happy with our stay. Kitchen has snacks 24/7 free of charge and an amazing breakfast with delicious fresh fruit and pastries. Feels like you are at someone's home NOT a hotel! Only down side was the train but... Hey that's part of the city experience!
Great place to stay for a girls get away in Chicago. Took train in from O'Hare. It is several blocks to the hotel from the Red line but expected that. Shopping and great places to eat all nearby. Helpful staff for suggestions on where to go. Comfy beds. Clean room. Great service for what we needed (corkscrew & wine glasses), even brought us a humidifier for the 2nd night.
Sirens were the only distraction, but think you would hear them from anywhere in the city.
These apartments have adequately equipped kitchens for long term stay and are in a location which is is quite convenient: within a 10 minute walk to the loop area, next to the railway station, on the bus line to Michigan Ave east or United center west, and adjacent to an I-94 exit/entrance. Daily maid serve was by arrangement.
The upper levels on the city side have a stupendous view, and the lower level has inside access to an upscale mini-Walmart, McDonald's and several other businesses. With about 2200 apartments in four towers, there is a variety of mostly younger professional or professionally aspiring occupants who were quite friendly and many of international backgrounds.
Several layers of suit-dressed security persons at concierge desks existed, but the neighborhood appeared reasonably safe for single persons to walk to street destinations at will. It did take a little longer to get to one's room through security. Other than what was in the building, one would have to walk several blocks into the city for pubs or restaurants, but taxi's were always available though the captain. An attached convenient garage for autos was available for public city rates.

My experience with SP Suites was outstanding, I was there on a business trip and I felt right at home. The Studio Suite was a little small but it was big enough for 1 person to be comfortable. However, I will sure stay there again if needed in the future!
