“Very nice modern hotel”

My only complaint is that when I arrived at the airport therewas no shuttle to transport me to the hotel eventhough expedia had arranged it for me. The hotel staff were extremely friendly and cooperative. The breakfast buffet was open early so that I could get a headstart in the morning and visit the temple early. The bathroom was big compared to the hotel I stayed at in Tokyo. The bed was a little more firm than I like but that is a personal preference.

“Exceeded my expectations”

Everything was great about this hotel - service, facilities, location, price- I plan to stay here again when en route to/from Southeast Asia. It really is only 10 mins by train from Narita to the hotel (the shuttle bus takes about half an hour) and the train ride is very straight forward and cheap, too.

“Was better than I thought”

I had read some random reviews prior to booking the hotel, and I had the impression that the Richmond would be a good hotel for economy reasons, but not necessarily a comfort aspect. However, while the rooms are smaller than what most Americans are used to, it was very clean, very nice colors and layout, and just overall very comfortable and inviting. The hotel was very close to Narita airport, about a 10 minute train ride. You pass the hotel as you pull into the station, so you see it coming in and thus it is easy to find. Also, service was also very good. They answered any questions quickly. I had several questions about how to connect to the wireless internet, and they answered them at the front desk without redirecting me to a technical support line (which has usually been my experience). My sister and I asked them for nearby salons that would just wash hair (not cut, but just wash and style) and they went in the back, then came back with a list of salons in the area that offer "shampoo - only" service as an option. They got out a map and marked where each one was. The hotel is also very close to a variety of restaurants which was important. For quick food, they had a Lawson, Family Mart, a station convenience store (the JR station, not the Keisei station), and a 24 hour McDonald's all within short walking distances. The one thing lacking that I didn't see was a grocery store that might've had a larger variety for hot and quick food options.

“First Night in Japan”

We stayed at this hotel the first night in Japan before we took our train to Kyoto. This allowed us to activate our JR pass the next day and get another day of use from it. The hotel is close to the Keisei line terminal and the staff is very helpful and patient with our limited Japanese. The room was comfortable and clean. You will have to go back to Narita airport for the JR office to activate your pass but it is a short, easy trip and you can catch the JR train south from the airport. A good way to start the trip.

“Easily Accessible”

The Richmond Hotel is easily accessible from Narita Airport (second train stop from the International Terminal). Good clean quiet room though somewhat on the small side compared to large hotel chains. Great showers. Walking distance to restaurants/shopping and Narita Temple complex. Great location for an overnight stay or longer.

“Remarkably Delightful Hotel!”

I've never written a review for a hotel, and tend to take reviews I read with a bit of skepticism, if only because reviews seem to be written by someone from the hotel itself (very positive), or its competition (negative). I assure you, I'm a traveler like many of you. My wife and I were returning from China and had a 24 hour layover in Japan. There were only 8 reviews for the Richmond Hotel on the day I looked, but all were positive, so I held my breath and submitted an online reservation for this hotel the day before we were to head for home. What a pleasant surprise! Our room was superbly clean, comfortable, and remarkably quiet. Hotel staff were incredibly polite with broken but sufficient English. Free Internet and even sleeping gowns are provided. The buffet breakfast (1,000 Yen) was a wonderful combination of western and Japanese foods. This hotel was perfectly delightful! Our only issue? The hotel's last shuttle from Narita Airport is at 2:30 pm (as of Jan 18, 2012). Our plane landed at 6 pm, so we took the train from the airport (250 Yen each). We were lucky to find English-speaking locals along the way who helped. It's easy to navigate to the hotel with a little guidance. It's stop #1 after leaving the airport, and a 10 minute walk from there. I sent e-mail to the hotel asking about the shuttle, but their reply wasn't sent until the next morning, bu I didn't see it in time. That small glitch aside, we loved this hotel and would definitely recommend it.

“Overnight before departure”

Decided to spent the night in Narita due to early morning departure the next day rather than drag myself all the way across Tokyo at some ungodly hour. Great choice! Access to hotel was very simple from Keisei Narita station. With luggage I suggest going down the hill and around the station rather than using the tunnel and it's numerous stairs. It's a five minute walk to the Richmond, all downhill. Hotel very comfortable and clean, wifi included, couldn't ask for more really. There are various food and drink options just a short walk from the hotel ranging from ramen to McDonalds. Hotel has free shuttle service (fairly limited schedule) and was approx 15 mins from the airport terminal.

“Very close to Narita Train Station”

This hotel is about 100 metres from the train station at Narita, so is very easy to get to if you are getting off the train from the airport. It is very clean and well maintained.

“A Great place to stay”

Great reasonably priced Hotel. Breakfast at an extra 1000yen per person was fantastic value. Overall highly recommended.

Great staff, perfect location for shopping, sightseeing, proximity to airport.
