“rundown and filthy everywhere”

From the very entry to this hotel, the battered lift and then the run down reception area, I should have turned around and gone somewhere else. The supposedly non-smoking room then was on a smoking floor and was also filthy, with stains on the carpet and chairs. The room would not hold 2 suitcases and the wardrobe was one shoe in depth,3 shoes in width with 3 coathangers. The bed was suitable for only one as it was up against a wall.This is not even a 1 star hotel, has no international TV channels and will only change US$ at reception. For the price I could have stayed down the road if they had room. There is no excuse for this filth, especially in Japan which prides itself on no graffiti.
