“Stay outside of the airport”

For once we had two nights to stay in Narita instead of just transiting for one night. So we decided to actually leave the airport area and check out the city of Narita. I would highly recommend doing so. A lovely area - - shopping, walking, eating, jogging - are all simple. The hotel was basic but fine. Small rooms, which is typical for Japan, but the price was excellent. I would stay again easily, if I had at least an extra day. Plus the train station is right there so easy to get around. “Cheap and adequate staging post”

I stayed my last night of the holiday at U-City Hotel. Easy to find near Narita (Town) JR station, it was perfectly adequate and competitively priced. OK, the carpet and decoration in my room were a bit past their best, but the size of the room and its level of equipment was fine. I ate in the Japanese-style bar on the 2nd floor which wasn't particularly cheap but the food and service were good. Next morning the fee shuttle bus left bang on time and delivered me to the airport exactly as promised - it was a Saturday, so maybe less traffic than on a weekday.

“Convenient, basic hotel with great service”

pros - is visible from the JR Narita station - walking distance from terrific restaurants on the other side of the station - staff are pleasant, patient, and speak terrific English - offered us a toy for our toddler - free shuttle service to the airport was fast (~15-20 mins). first shuttle leaves at 7 am. they also had copies of the train schedule (10 mins) on hand if we needed to get to the airport earlier. - they have 3-bed rooms, a rarity in hotels, which is much more affordable than getting 2 2-person rooms neutral - elevator runs from the ground floor, which is helpful for getting bags to the room with ease. however, i wonder about security, though that may just not be a concern here. - the lobby is pleasant, though that means smokers are apt to hang out there as well. there are 2 non-smoking hotel floors out of 8. - the rooms are not spacious, and would not be comfortable for long stays, but were perfect for our one-night stay cons - website is all in japanese, so it took a bit of internet guesswork to find a map of the area and the hotel's location, which turned out to be unnecessary since it was visible from the station - one of the beds had a small stain on the mattress pad which could be seen through the sheet. that left me with an initially uneasy feeling about the cleanliness of my bed. the sheets, however, were clean.

“nice hotel near the train station”

The rooms were nice & clean. Do not look for large size rooms, this is Japan, & not a 5 star hotel. You could walk to the train station in 5-10 mins.

“Good value hotel.”

We used hotel on our last night in Japan before heading to the airport the next morning. It was a short walk from the JR Narita station and is visible from the walkway outside the station so was quite easy to find. The staff spoke good English and were friendly and helpful. The room was large by Japanese standards, had everything we needed and was clean. We used the free hotel bus to get to the airport which picked us up from outside the front of the hotel and was very convenient. The bus took around 30 mins to get to the airport.

The room I got was very clean. It was much bigger than I anticipated. The hotel offers free shuttle to and from the airport . The hotel is close to JR train station. Right in front of it is thebus station to go to Aeon Mall which is the largest mall in the city of Narita. One- way ticket costs 200 yens. There are several conveinence stores around. It was a great economical choice for me.

conveniently close to the Narita train station and easy walking distance to the wonderful shops, temple, and park comfortable room, friendly staff, even reasonably-priced beer in the machines! we had no complaints!

The room was small, but clean and in very good condition. The hotel staff spoke English and were very helpful. The hotel is very near Narita JR station.

“Great for stopovers”

Stayed 1 night after arriving late into Tokyo, prior to heading to Nozawa the following day. Took the JR line and spotted the hotel easily from the station. The room was very small (what we expected), but clean and well maintained. Nearby (across the st) is a 24 hour 'Japanese fast food' place with delicious cutlets, and also a 7/11. Not much else in the area though. Would stay again!

“Fine hotel, but nowhere near the airport”

Checked into the U-City hotel Narita before a morning flight back to the UK. Hotel was good value and absolutely fine, but be aware that: 1) It's in Narita city, which is around 20 minutes by car from Narita airport. 2) The last shuttle bus from the airport to the hotel leaves at 9:10pm. If you get to the airport by train or bus after that, you're looking at an expensive taxi ride to the hotel. 3) Narita U-City hotel is right by Narita JR ralway station (really, about 100m away) so, if you're going to miss the last shuttle bus, get off the train at Nariata instead of the airport Terminals (or catch a train from the terminal back to Narita). 4) Everything worked, reception staff spoke perfect English, shuttle buses back to the airport in the morning were regular and convenient.
