Not impressed
Stayed in a river front room. Had plenty of ants and mosquitoes plus several geckos. There were holes in the floor and roof. Water dripped from the roof when it rained. Also hot water was almost nonexistent. I was able to get another room the last night after the roof leaked really bad. The hotel is isolated from everything so if you want to go do or see something you will need to arrange for a tour. The hotel didn’t have any flyers for ideas. Only place to eat is at the hotel unless you have a car or take a taxi. I walked a good kilometer before I found a restaurant, but no one spoke English. The hotel restaurant food was nothing special except it was four times the price.

We do apologize for some inconvenience caused during your recently stay, for the cottage on the river front are the room made by wood in Thai style house, that may look old and some holes around, also the insects in rainy season. These room type are quit unique and seasonal stay especially in winter. However, we do have regular maintenance and keep the room condition with proper hotel standard. Stayed 3 nights in January, 2023. Large bright room with updated bathroom, lovely pool to relax around and helpful staff. Some minor issues: wifi spotty in room, no English language channels on tv and no shuttle service available. Despite this, I’d happily stay again.

This property would nickel and dime you. We booked 2 rooms for 3 people. They only allowed 2 gala dinner tickets for 3 people. They insist to charge us an extra $50 for a horrible new year Eve dinner with lousy food, lame entertainment and drinks are not included. We purchased 2 cocktail for exhorbitant prices which taste like sugar. Worst hotel in our trip by far.

This is my second time here. I booked the house cottage with river view. But they said the cottage is under construction when I checkin. So they update me to the Deluxe river view room and there is no balcony... I have no problem about the stuff since his service is good, but just about the management. Why I can book the cottage online? And where is my balcony? I like the air in morning in Chiangrai. Ruin my vacation.. I may not stay in this hotel again...

This hotel has that old world Thai imperial charm. It is not flash & new, but older & stylish. The location for some people will seem a little removed, however, if you're looking for some quiet relaxing time this is perfect. The hotel also offers a free shuttle each night to the night bazaar, leaving at 7 or 7:30 & returning at 9 or 9:30. Taxi is only 100baht anyway. Location is also walking distance to the Blue Temple.

Classic hotel on the river
This is a gracious, old-style hotel with large rooms, huge beds, wooden floors, big bathrooms, a large pool and a pretty garden. The location on the banks of the river provide beautiful views and cool breezes. The restaurant is only average, but the omelets in the morning are delicious. The fitness room is adequate, but could use some newer equipment and the outdoor jacuzzi did not work.The staff was pleasant, efficient and unobtrusive. We had a very pleasant stay.

Great Thai hotel.
Older Thai style hotel with beautiful wood floors in the rooms.I had a nice view of the pool and the river as the room has a large window letting in lots of light.The breakfast was good if somewhat limited a little bland. This hotel is in the same chain as my all time favorite the Imperial Mae Ping hotel in Chiang Mai,I recommend both hotels highly, they both deliver a great Thai vibe that you don't get in the more modern hotels.

In general the hotel is fine. The pool is nice, the rooms are big, the bed is big and comfortable (and we’re a couple with high demands if it concerns beds), the rooms are clean and there is a nice view. However, the hotel seems to be a little outdated. It feels a little old. For example, the airconditioning makes a lot of noice. When someone took a look at it, we were told that the airco makes the same (loud) noice in every room. Therefore, we weren’t able to sleep with the airco on and not with the airco off. So we naturally woke up from the heat whereafter we cooled down the room for 20 minutes so we could go back to sleep again. It was very difficult to explain the problems in the roo to the staff because they couldn’t speak English very well. Furthermore, in the rainseason (now) there are a lot mosquitoes. The hotel tries to keep them out as much as they can, fighting against the mosquitoes is however mission impossible. The hotel is located in an area a litte far from the citycenter. You need to take a taxi ot tuktuk (or the relatively expensive hotel shuttle service). There is a few very good restaurants on walking distance. Last but not least, the breakfastbuffet was OK. Not that special, not to bad. I missed some unweetned yogurt and some more fresh products (such as drinks). In short: it was a fine experience.

We regret to know that our air-conditioner making noisy despite for engineering team care program and do often service, also staff could not communication well. Lovely resort on the river
Amazing stay loved chiang rai as more quaint than chiang mai ( the hotel is lovely but a bit outside the city) particularly liked the laotian food (elegantly served and quite inexpensive), large bedrooms with lovely baths and views, giant pool and nice fitness equipment and beautiful gardens

Staff was genuinely friendly but need to work on being more informed about their hotel . They misspelled my name and told me I did not have a reservation at the hotel to start . Once that was cleared up and I went to check in , it was not the same room advertised on hotels.com They did attempt to correct the situation and put me in what they thought was the right room and offered to move our luggage for us as well . When we got to the room it was the exact same room as before . Also before changing rooms I informed the front desk that they would need to check the closet for one shirt that I had hung up in there . When I went to the new room , the shirt was not there and when I asked the front desk they said someone was now already occupying the previous room so I would h e to wait until the morning . All the staff was , again, very friendly . However it seemed like they were not very competent . I would say maybe it was a language barrier but being fluent in Thai , there was no language barrier in this case . Buffet breakfast was nice and all the staff there very very friendly and accommodating .

Beautiful hotel
Beautiful hotel with large rooms and bathrooms and great breakfast buffet! Though location is not central, it's easy to get wherever you want to go using taxis. Free Hotel shuttle to the night market helps too. Friendly staff is always available to assist.
