Picture Perfect Thailand

We had debated stayng closer to Chiang Rai but when we pulled up to the hotel we knew we had made the best choice. The hotel looks fantastic, the restaurant and pool sit high above the paddy fields and the rooms at the end of a road are private and surrounded by the fields, we didn't stop taking photos and we loved the walk to and from the restaurant (a golf car was available). The rooms were very welcoming and comfortable, with large windows for lots of light and great views. It's the kind of place to visit when you are in need of quiet time with the only noise coming from the frogs at dusk. The only negative about the room was the limited wifi but I think it is to be expected outside of the main cities, it would also have been nice to have had a second chair on the deck. The food was delicious, and France made some great suggestions including the Tea Leaf salad and Green curry, all served by very sweet and attentive local staff. We would normaly venture out of the hotel for meals but were quite content to work our way through the menu at Manee Dehva. They also quickly packed a lunch for us one day, very last minute which was greatly appreciated.France was a great source of information on local history and Thai culture and offered an interesting insight into Thailand. With the connections to the local hill tribe and coffee producer it would be a great highend ecotourism hotel.

A very special experience.

Pros: Location, peaceful, beautiful, romantic, authentic, helpful.
Cons: Nothing
Location: The White Temple, Myanmar, Hall of Opium, Golden Triangle
If I had to describe this hotel in one word it would be magical. We arrived very late at night after a long day of traveling and the prearranged driver was there to greet us at the airport. He whisked us to the hotel which is roughly a hour drive from Chiang Rai airport. We were quickly checked in a taken by golf cart to our bungalow. The next morning we awoke to one of the most beautiful landscapes I had ever seen. The hotel is situated in a working rice plantation and the bungalows are right in the middle of it all. This is truly the place for an authentic northern Thailand experience. Francis the hotel manager is very gracious as is his staff. He would greet us every morning at breakfast and was very helpful in arranging excursions to the White Temple, Myanmar, The Hall of Opium, and the Golden Triangle. He also helped us arrange a driver to take us to Chiang Mai. All at a very reasonable price. You will not be disappointed if you choose this hotel. It's a place we will never forget.

away from the hustle and bustle

we stayed at manee dheva for two nights in early november 2013 for our honeymoon. we selected this resort to get away from the hustle and bustle and were not disappointed. the bungalow was modern and comfortable yet rustic and overlooked the river. we particularly enjoyed the food at the restaurant which overlooks the rice paddies and mountains. though more expensive than if you ate in-town, the food was superb and fantastic! in addition, the in-house dogs and cats were a true delight, especially tong dam. francis and his staff ensured that our stay was restful and were very responsive to our inquiries about day tours and transportation from the airport and to our next destination. we highly recommend that you consider staying at this resort if stopping over in chiang rai.

One of the nicest place I've ever stayed.

Pros: Private and secluded, very romantic, beautiful, open and light villas, incredible service.
They've really created something special at the Manee Dheva Resort. Where to start? The Villas themselves are incredible, they're brand new, incredibly open with high open roofs, and very light with a massive back window with a lovely view. The window leads onto a large balcony which is completely private and secluded from other villas... though to our amazement we were the only guests in the resort the whole three nights so we had the whole place to ourselves. It really is a very romantic setting. The owner Francis was very friendly, and really went out of his way to make the stay perfect for us. We'd had a very long drive and arrived late on the first night, when we called ahead to let him know we'd be late and he kindly kept the restaurant open for us. The food is amazing here, as is the restaurant setting... 360 degree's views of rice fields and mountains. Just the little touches made the service exceptional. My travel bag strap had broke and was about to go into town to get a tailor to fix it. Francis took the bag and 10 minutes later he came back with it fixed... amazing I didn't even ask! We bought some fresh crabs one day, brought them back and ask their advice on how to cook them, to our gratitude they took them and cooked them for us to perfection! It really was a true 5 star service and the setting and villas are amazing. I can't recommended it enough, you really won't want to leave :)
